Job Description

Young Ambassador

Carnegie India

Carnegie India's Young Ambassadors Program is a one-year program for young individuals to understand research-based policymaking. Based in New Delhi, Carnegie India is looking to recruit one young ambassador for its Security Studies focus area. The program for the selected candidate will run from March 2025 to February 2026.

The program gives an early opportunity to individuals who want to understand the complexities of the changing world order, learn crucial public policy skills, participate in the programming elements of a global think tank, and channel their interest in a particular area.

CIYAP has been curated specifically for future leaders to:

1. Observe, engage, and understand research-driven policymaking from a team of Indian and global experts who work on key regional, national, and global issues through a multidisciplinary lens.

2. Learn from and contribute to a diverse community of young leaders within the cohort in New Delhi and the larger Carnegie network in Washington D.C., Brussels, Beirut, Berlin and Singapore.

3. Imbibe and nurture professional skills, such as leadership, analytical acumen, critical thinking, and report writing, amongst others.

4. Be part of cutting-edge security policy projects at Carnegie India while building on and fine tuning one's own research interest in these areas.

5. Be mentored by and assist Carnegie India scholars working on a range of public policy issues and build networks both within Carnegie as well as leaders in the industry.

6. Support verticals at Carnegie India, including program, development, and communication teams and help with the organization of the Security Studies Dialogue, Security Studies seminars, and the Global Technology Summit, Carnegie India's flagship annual event and associated events.

The candidate should be able to conduct research on issues concerning India's foreign and defense policies with a special emphasis on India's relationship with China, developments along India's border with Pakistan and China, and the strategic transformation of the Indo-Pacific region.

The candidate may be assigned administrative, editorial, research, writing, or organizational tasks to provide overall support to Carnegie India's team. The ambassador will also assist scholars on ongoing projects, background research, and events.

All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to caste, race, color, religion, sex, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or any other protected group.
