• Identify areas of concern or imbalance in the body and mind (e.g., chronic pain, stress, anxiety, injury recovery).
2. Developing Personalized Yoga Plans
• Design and implement customized yoga therapy plans based on individual needs and goals.
• Incorporate various techniques such as asanas (postures), pranayama (breathing exercises), meditation, and relaxation methods.
• Adapt practices for specific health conditions, ensuring safety and effectiveness.
3. Therapeutic Interventions
• Provide hands-on adjustments or verbal cues to correct postures and ensure alignment.
• Teach techniques to address specific health concerns, such as back pain, digestive issues, or mental health concerns.
• Guide clients through restorative practices to promote relaxation and stress reduction.
4. Monitoring Progress and Adjustments
• Track the client's progress over time, noting improvements or areas that require more attention.
• Modify therapy sessions based on the client's feedback and evolving health status.
• Keep detailed records of each session, adjustments made, and client feedback for continuous improvement.
5. Client Education
• Educate clients about the benefits of yoga therapy, proper breathing techniques, and lifestyle changes.
• Provide resources, including readings, exercises, and tools to support the client's practice outside of therapy sessions.
• Encourage self-practice and mindfulness to foster a holistic approach to healing.
6. Collaboration with Healthcare Professionals
• Collaborate with doctors, physiotherapists, and other healthcare professionals to integrate yoga therapy into a holistic health plan.
• Share client progress with healthcare teams as necessary while respecting confidentiality.
• Provide insights or recommendations for complementary therapies.
7. Maintaining Professional Development
• Stay updated on new research, techniques, and trends in the field of yoga therapy.
• Attend workshops, seminars, and certification programs to continue professional development.
• Practice self-care and maintain personal wellness through regular yoga practice and mindfulness.
8. Administrative and Record-Keeping Duties
• Maintain accurate client records, including health assessments, progress notes, and therapy plans.
• Handle administrative tasks such as scheduling, invoicing, and payment management.
• Ensure compliance with legal, ethical, and health regulations.
9. Promoting the Yoga Therapy Practice
• Market and promote yoga therapy services to attract new clients.
• Network with wellness communities and organizations.
• Develop educational content or workshops to raise awareness about yoga therapy's benefits.
