Job Overview:
Stemrx Hospital & Research Centre is seeking a dedicated and experienced Yoga Instructor to join our Rehabilitation Department. The ideal candidate will work closely with our team to provide tailored yoga sessions for patients with delayed development and neurological conditions. The role involves engaging with both patients and their parents, facilitating a supportive and inclusive environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct Yoga Sessions:
• Design and lead yoga classes tailored to the specific needs of patients with delayed development and neurological conditions.
• Ensure classes are safe, effective, and adapted to the abilities of each participant.
• Include parents in sessions, fostering a family-inclusive approach to therapy.
• Collaboration:
• Work closely with the Rehabilitation Department to develop and implement therapeutic yoga programs.
• Collaborate with therapists, doctors, and other healthcare professionals to ensure a holistic approach to patient care.
• Assessment and Adaptation:
• Assess patients' physical abilities and limitations.
• Continuously adapt yoga routines to meet the evolving needs of patients.
• Monitor and document patient progress, making adjustments as necessary.
• Education and Support:
• Educate patients and their families on the benefits of yoga for neurological and developmental conditions.
• Provide support and encouragement to patients and parents during sessions.
• Offer guidance on incorporating yoga practices into daily routines.
• Administrative Duties:
• Maintain accurate records of sessions and patient progress.
• Schedule sessions and manage class logistics.
• Participate in team meetings and contribute to patient care plans.
Qualifications:
• Education:
• Certification from a recognized yoga training program.
• Additional certification or training in therapeutic yoga is highly desirable.
• Experience:
• Minimum of 4 years of experience as a yoga instructor.
• Experience working with children and adults with developmental delays and neurological conditions is preferred.
• Familiarity with a healthcare or rehabilitation setting is an advantage.
• Skills:
• Strong understanding of yoga principles and techniques.
• Ability to adapt yoga practices to meet the needs of diverse populations.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Compassionate and patient-centered approach to care.
• Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
