Job Description


The Work Permit Receiver is responsible for ensuring that all work conducted under permit-to-work (PTW) procedures is carried out safely, in compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements. The role involves obtaining, reviewing, and adhering to the conditions of permits, ensuring work is executed with minimal risk to personnel, equipment, and the environment. Key Responsibilities: 1. Permit Handling & Compliance:

  • Receive, review, and sign work permits before initiating any task.
  • Ensure permits are fully approved, valid, and aligned with the work scope.
  • Verify that necessary precautions and control measures are implemented before starting work.
  • Ensure permits are closed upon work completion and signed off accordingly.
2. Safety & Risk Management:
  • Conduct risk assessments and job safety analysis (JSA) before beginning work.
  • Ensure that worksite hazards are identified, controlled, and communicated to the workforce.
  • Monitor work activities to ensure compliance with safety rules and permit conditions.
  • Enforce the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to safety standards.
3. Coordination & Communication:
  • Liaise with supervisors, site engineers, and safety officers regarding permit conditions.
  • Maintain communication with the issuing authority regarding permit status and job progress.
  • Report any unsafe conditions, near misses, or incidents to the responsible personnel.
4. Worksite Monitoring & Documentation:
  • Ensure workers understand the scope of the work, associated hazards, and required precautions.
  • Keep the work permit at the job site and display it visibly for easy reference.
  • Document any deviations, corrective actions, or additional safety measures taken during the job.
5. Emergency Preparedness:
  • Be aware of emergency procedures and response plans in case of accidents.
  • Ensure immediate reporting of any permit violations, safety concerns, or environmental hazards.
  • Participate in safety drills and emergency response training.
Requirements Qualifications & Experience:
  • Minimum high school diploma or equivalent (Technical certification preferred).
  • 2+ years of experience in oil and gas operations, maintenance, or construction.
  • Prior experience as a Work Permit Receiver is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of PTW systems, safety procedures, and risk assessment.
  • Knowledge of industry safety standards (OSHA, HSE, etc.).
Skills & Competencies:
  • Strong attention to detail and safety awareness.
  • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
  • Ability to interpret work permits, safety guidelines, and risk assessments.
  • Familiarity with hazardous work environments, including confined spaces, hot work, and high-risk operations.
  • Problem-solving skills in identifying and mitigating workplace hazards.
