Job Summary:

The Wire Drawing Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining wire drawing machinery to produce wire of specific dimensions and qualities. This role involves setting up equipment, monitoring the drawing process, performing quality checks, and ensuring safety and efficiency in the production of wire products. The ideal candidate will have experience with wire drawing operations, a strong attention to detail, and the ability to troubleshoot and resolve equipment issues.

Key Responsibilities:

• Machine Operation:
• Set up and operate wire drawing machines, including adjusting settings to achieve desired wire dimensions and qualities.
• Monitor the wire drawing process to ensure consistency and quality of the finished product.
• Perform routine machine maintenance and adjustments to keep equipment in optimal working condition.
• Process Monitoring and Quality Control:
• Inspect wire products for defects such as surface imperfections, dimensional inconsistencies, or tensile strength issues.
• Measure wire diameter and tensile strength using appropriate tools and equipment.
• Record production data and quality metrics to ensure compliance with specifications and standards.
• Troubleshooting and Maintenance:
• Identify and troubleshoot issues with wire drawing machines, including mechanical failures or process deviations.
• Perform minor repairs and maintenance tasks or coordinate with maintenance personnel for major repairs.
• Keep detailed records of machine maintenance, repairs, and process adjustments.
• Safety and Compliance:
• Follow all safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Wear and maintain appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Ensure compliance with company policies, safety regulations, and industry standards.
• Documentation and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of production output, machine settings, and any incidents or issues.
• Prepare reports on production performance, quality control results, and equipment status.
• Communicate with supervisors and other team members regarding production progress and any challenges encountered.
• Team Collaboration:
• Work collaboratively with other operators, maintenance personnel, and production staff to achieve production goals.
• Participate in training programs and share knowledge with colleagues to improve overall team performance.

Qualifications:

• Education:
• High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training or associate degree in a relevant field is a plus.
• Experience:
• Previous experience as a Wire Drawing Operator or in a similar role within a manufacturing environment.
• Familiarity with wire drawing machinery and processes is preferred.
• Skills:
• Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of wire drawing operations.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
