OverviewThe Western Vocal IB PYP Music Teacher plays a crucial role in delivering high-quality music education to students within the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Program (IB PYP). This role involves developing and implementing a comprehensive music curriculum, fostering a passion for music, and enhancing students\' musical skills and knowledge. The position also involves collaborating with other faculty members, conducting assessments, and contributing to the overall academic and cultural development of the school.Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement a dynamic and engaging music curriculum aligned with the IB PYP framework.
• Teach Western Vocal music classes to students, ensuring a balance of vocal technique, music theory, and performance skills.
• Facilitate musical activities and experiences that promote creativity, expression, and appreciation for diverse musical genres.
• Organize and supervise music rehearsals, performances, and events.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate music with other subject areas and enhance interdisciplinary learning.
• Provide individual and group vocal coaching to students of varying abilities and interests.
• Assess students\' musical progress through regular evaluations and feedback.
• Contribute to the school\'s extracurricular music program by organizing clubs, ensembles, or choirs.
• Participate in professional development to stay updated on best practices in music education and IB PYP methodologies.
• Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and administrators regarding students\' musical development and achievements.

• Bachelor\'s degree in Music Education, Vocal Performance, or a related field.
• Teaching certification or licensure, with a specialization in music education.
• Experience in teaching Western Vocal music to elementary or primary school students, preferably within an IB PYP environment.
• Demonstrated proficiency in vocal techniques, music theory, and choral conducting.
• Strong understanding of the IB PYP curriculum and its application to music education.
• Ability to create and implement assessment strategies that align with IB PYP standards.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues, students, and parents.
• Passion for music and a commitment to inspiring a love for music in students.
• Ability to differentiate instruction to accommodate the diverse learning needs of students.
• Experience in organizing and directing musical performances and events.
