Job Location : Sharjah

Must have Steel Structural Fabrication experience needed

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervision of Welding Team :
• Oversee and coordinate the activities of welders, ensuring that tasks are completed efficiently and according to specifications.
• Assign specific welding tasks to individual welders based on their skills and experience, ensuring proper delegation and workload distribution.
• Monitor the work of the welding team to ensure high-quality work, adherence to safety standards, and compliance with project specifications.
• Provide guidance and mentorship to junior welders and other team members, helping them improve their welding skills.
• Project Management and Coordination :
• Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure that welding projects align with the overall project timelines and goals.
• Ensure all materials, tools, and equipment needed for welding tasks are available and in good condition.
• Review project blueprints and technical drawings to ensure the welding work is performed according to the required design and specifications.
• Manage welding schedules, track progress, and report project status to upper management, making adjustments as necessary to meet deadlines.
• Quality Control :
• Inspect completed welds for quality, ensuring they meet industry standards, project specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Implement and maintain quality control measures, including visual inspections, non-destructive testing (NDT), and dimensional checks.
• Address and resolve any welding defects or issues that may arise, providing solutions and corrective actions.
• Ensure proper documentation of welding inspections, tests, and quality reports.
• Safety Management :
• Enforce strict adherence to safety protocols on the welding site, including the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), safe handling of welding materials, and safe operation of welding equipment.
• Conduct regular safety meetings, tool-box talks, and training sessions to reinforce safety procedures.
• Identify and mitigate any potential hazards on the job site or in the welding shop to prevent accidents or injuries.
• Monitor compliance with OSHA or other relevant safety regulations, ensuring a safe working environment for all employees.
• Equipment and Materials Management :
• Oversee the proper maintenance and care of welding equipment and tools, ensuring that all machinery is in good working condition.
• Work with procurement or supply chain departments to ensure that sufficient welding materials (e.g., electrodes, gases, filler rods) are available for ongoing projects.
• Ensure that equipment and materials are stored safely and that inventory is tracked accurately.
• Troubleshooting and Problem-Solving :
• Troubleshoot welding issues that arise during production, identifying the root cause of problems and providing solutions to keep projects on track.
• Resolve technical issues related to welding processes, materials, or equipment.
• Offer expert advice on welding techniques and best practices to solve complex welding problems.
• Documentation and Reporting :
• Maintain accurate records of welding work, including daily reports, progress updates, quality control logs, and safety checklists.
• Report any incidents or accidents to management and participate in investigations to identify root causes and prevent recurrence.
• Keep track of welding personnel hours, materials used, and project costs, helping to stay within budget and schedule.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Welding Expertise :
• Extensive experience in welding, with proficiency in multiple welding techniques (e.g., MIG, TIG, Stick, ARC, etc.).
• In-depth knowledge of welding codes, standards, and specifications (e.g., AWS, ASME).
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and welding symbols.
• Strong knowledge of metallurgy, welding materials, and joint design.
• Leadership and Management Skills :
• Proven ability to lead, motivate, and supervise a team of welders.
• Strong communication skills to interact with team members, management, and other departments.
• Organizational and time-management skills to ensure welding projects are completed on schedule.
• Ability to resolve conflicts and maintain a productive, positive work environment.
• Problem-Solving and Decision-Making :
• Ability to quickly identify welding issues or defects and determine effective solutions.
• Proactive in identifying potential challenges in welding operations and addressing them before they affect the project.
• Safety Awareness :
• Deep understanding of welding safety standards, including OSHA regulations, and the ability to implement and enforce these protocols.
• Ability to conduct safety training and promote a culture of safety among the team.
• Knowledge of fire prevention and emergency response procedures
