Position Title: ITI Welder
Location: Pondicherry

Qualifications:

Education: ITI (Industrial Training Institute) Welder Certification or equivalent qualification.

Experience: 2+ years of experience in welding, fabrication, or a similar role in an industrial or manufacturing environment is preferred. Fresher also can be applied, training willbe given.

Technical Skills:

• Proficiency in MIG, TIG, arc, and gas welding.
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical specifications.
• Knowledge of various metals, welding processes, and associated tools and equipment.

Job Summary:

The ITI Welder is responsible for performing various welding tasks such as fabrication, assembly, and repair of metal structures and components. The role requires proficiency in various welding techniques like MIG, TIG, arc, and gas welding. The candidate will work from blueprints, technical drawings, or specifications to produce high-quality, structurally sound welds. Attention to detail and adherence to safety standards are crucial in this position.

Key Responsibilities:

Welding Operations:

• Perform welding tasks using MIG, TIG, arc welding, gas welding, or other welding techniques based on project needs.
• Weld and fabricate metal components, including pipes, structural steel, frames, and other equipment.
• Inspect and test welds to ensure they meet specifications and quality standards

Blueprint and Technical Drawing Interpretation:

• Read and interpret blueprints, schematics, or technical drawings to understand project specifications.
• Plan, lay out, and execute welding and fabrication tasks according to the design.

Material Preparation and Setup:

• Prepare materials by cutting, grinding, and cleaning metal surfaces before welding.
• Set up welding equipment and choose the correct settings and welding materials for each task.

Repair and Maintenance:

• Perform welding repairs on equipment, structures, and machinery as required.
• Assist in maintenance activities for welding tools and machinery to ensure operational efficiency.

Quality Control and Inspection:

• Inspect completed work for defects such as cracks, weak spots, or incorrect dimensions.
• Ensure all welds conform to safety and quality standards, performing rework as necessary.

Safety and Compliance:

• Follow all safety protocols, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE), to ensure a safe working environment.
• Comply with company policies, industry standards, and welding regulations.

Documentation and Reporting:

• Maintain accurate records of welding work completed, including weld quality inspections and project progress reports.
• Communicate any issues, repairs, or rework needs to the supervisor or production team.
