The Welder will be responsible for performing welding operations to fabricate, repair, and modify metal parts and structures in compliance with specifications and safety standards. This position requires expertise in various welding techniques and the ability to work with a range of materials, including steel, aluminum, and other metals, as well as different welding equipment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Welding Operations: Perform MIG, TIG, Stick, and other types of welding on metal materials to join, cut, or repair parts and components.
• Blueprint Interpretation: Read and interpret blueprints, technical drawings, and work orders to understand welding requirements and specifications.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed welds for accuracy, strength, and quality. Ensure all welded joints meet required specifications and industry standards.
• Material Preparation: Prepare materials for welding, including cleaning, cutting, grinding, and setting up workpieces.
• Safety Adherence: Follow all safety protocols, including wearing proper protective gear and maintaining a safe work environment. Operate equipment safely and efficiently.
• Maintenance: Maintain welding equipment and tools, ensuring they are in good working condition and ready for use.
• Collaboration: Work closely with engineers, supervisors, and other production staff to ensure timely completion of projects and resolve any issues that may arise during the welding process.
• Repairs & Modifications: Perform necessary repairs or modifications to welded components and structures, ensuring they meet operational needs and safety standards.
• Documentation: Maintain records of work completed, including material usage, time spent, and any issues or modifications encountered during the process.
Skills and Qualifications:
• Proven experience as a welder in a manufacturing environment.
• Proficient in MIG, TIG, Stick, and/or other welding techniques.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and welding symbols.
• Knowledge of welding materials and processes (steel, aluminum, stainless steel, etc.).
• Strong attention to detail and high-quality work ethic.
• Ability to operate welding machines, tools, and other related equipment.
• Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team.
• Familiarity with welding safety standards and practices.
• Certification in welding (e.g., AWS, CWB) is highly preferred.
