Job Description

Domestic Business (India) & International Business (Exports)

- Understand and implement FSSAI & other statutory rules and regulations for all the CPG products to be marketed in India.

- In depth knowledge of current Regulatory guidelines in GCC countries, EU and US or ability to constantly update and lead regulations for export business.

- Support product development teams in product benchmarking & specification development for export products.

- Keep track of modifications, revisions in the rules & regulations & help to implement the changes with product development & other cross functional teams.

- Evaluate the possibility of various claims desired by marketing team in consultation with product development team, legal team & the applicable claim guidelines.

- Prepare claim substantiation dossiers with right scientific data.

- Keep track of competitor activities in terms of claim, communication plans.

- Build & manage relations with scientific, technical, food law, enforcement, public affairs, and external authorities.

- Stay apprised of regulations in the countries in which we operate.

- Work in collaboration with Marketing, Procurement, Supply chain and Operations teams.

- The role will be fully responsible for statutory compliance of CPG products in all aspects.

Candidate Requirements (Education / Work Experience / Skills / Competencies)

- B.Tech /M.Tech /MSc FOOD TECHNOLOGY from reputed Institute in Food / related field.

- B. Tech with Min 4-5 years of experience or MSc / MTech with 3 years in handling regulatory affairs in FMCG

- In-depth understanding of FSSAI Rules & Regulations (1. Food Products Standards & Additives 2. Contaminants, Toxins and Residues 3. Laboratory and Sampling Analysis 4. Nutraceuticals, Food for Special Dietary Use 5. Food Recall Procedure 6. Import Regulation 7. Non-Specific Food and Food Ingredients 8. Organic Food 9. Fortification of Food 10. Advertising and Claims 11. Packaging Regulation

- Domain knowledge of regulatory aspects of nutrition and health claims with deep understanding of claims development and approval process.

- Product development experience would be added advantage.

- Good communication skills; team player, open to feedback

- Self-driven, Result oriented with strong influencing skills.

- Strong network and/or membership with reputed food research institutions would be an advantage.
