The Watchman is responsible for maintaining the safety and security of the premises, protecting property, and monitoring access to the facility. This role involves patrolling the area, observing for any suspicious activities, and responding promptly to any security threats or emergencies. Key Responsibilities:
Surveillance and Patrol:
Conduct regular patrols of the premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion and ensure security of doors, windows, and gates.
Monitor and authorize entrance and departure of employees, visitors, and other persons to maintain security of premises.
Access Control:
Verify identification and manage access control for employees, contractors, and visitors.
Maintain logbooks of visitors and report any unauthorized access attempts.
Incident Response:
Respond to alarms and investigate disturbances.
Contact police or fire departments in cases of emergency, such as fire or presence of unauthorized persons.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure compliance with safety protocols and emergency procedures.
Report any safety hazards or violations immediately to the relevant authorities.
Observation and Reporting:
Write detailed reports of daily activities and irregularities such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences.
Report any suspicious activities to the security supervisor.
Emergency Handling:
Provide assistance in emergency situations, including administering first aid when necessary.
Assist in the evacuation of the building during emergencies.
Customer Service:
Provide directions and information to visitors in a courteous manner.
Assist employees and visitors with any security-related inquiries.
Maintenance of Security Equipment:
Inspect and adjust security systems, equipment, and machinery to ensure operational use and to detect evidence of tampering.
Report any malfunctions or required maintenance of security systems to the appropriate personnel.

High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in security or a related field preferred but not required.
Military or law enforcement background is an advantage.
Strong observational skills and attention to detail.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Ability to handle stressful situations calmly and effectively.
Security Guard certification (if required by state or local regulations).
First Aid/CPR certification is an advantage.
Physically fit to perform patrol duties and respond to emergencies
