VTBA IT Category Manager will be responsible for the procurement strategy of IT software, hardware, consultancy and telecoms services within Vacuum Technique Business Area. Working as a core member of our Global Indirect Procurement team, and VTIS Management team. The VTBA Global IT Category Manager will take ownership of strategic sourcing for the category, will provide support and coordinate strategy with all entities and internal stakeholders, negotiate agreements, leverage spend, execute spend and supplier base optimization projects, standardize processes, and drive supplier development initiatives which will enable to achieve our strategic and financial goals.Main Responsibilities
The VTBA Global IT Category Manager in relation to the scope of responsibility as defined above will:

  • Provide leadership in defining and implementing the global strategy for IT, Telecommunications & IT consulting category in line with the global procurement team, VTIS Management and internal stakeholders;
  • Create and lead the procurement strategy for the category with approx. responsibility of $70M, to deliver the lowest total cost of acquisition for products or services, while delivering improved value and service;
  • Manage IT Critical Partner relationships (up to $20M contract deals): follow-up on contract, monitor the relationship, solve potential issues, measure Partner performance, act as a facilitator for disputes and escalations and perform continuous price analyses
  • Together with VTIS Leaders, local VTIS teams, AC Group IT Procurement team and internal stakeholders drive & contribute to the overall performance and support the team in negotiating IT related hardware, software, network, communication, consulting and infrastructure outsourcing agreements.;
  • Drive standardization across VTIS community, work closely with internal legal team and VTIS management on building of standard contractual templates' repository;
  • Lead global/divisional and support regional/local tenders & sourcing projects as well as contract negotiations to deliver best value and ensure compliance with The Way and Atlas Copco Business Code of Practice.
  • Coordinate and manage of all global procurement projects for the IT category;
  • Stay up to date with emerging technologies, and pro-actively work towards optimizations by searching synergies that leverages the Group's size and strength leading to highly competitive agreements
  • Ensure that the end-to-end procurement process is run in the most efficient way and be accountable for contract finalization and related timelines;
  • Support e-Catalogues negotiations and implementations in VTBA;
  • Act as the single point of contact in providing expert leadership for IT category;
  • Understand the best practices in the sourcing function and to incorporate them into the category strategy;
  • Implement a strategic supplier management program and reduce the number of non-strategic suppliers;
  • Implement effective global contract management practices, supplier due diligence and supplier risk management.

Skills / Knowledge / Experience
Relevant Previous experience (minimum years of experience to competently carry out the role, not total year of experience)
  • Minimum 10 years procurement experience and preferably experience in global IT Category management
  • 5 years in a strategic role, or experience in developing category strategies within 7 years procurement
Knowledge areas/Skills (minimum level of knowledge to fullfil the role's responsibilities)
  • Strategy creation and deployment
  • Cost analysis and supply market intelligence
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organisation, both internally and with suppliers
  • Track record improving supply chains, supplier relationships and performance
  • Procurement and supply chain process

  • Full fluency in English written and spoken
  • Interaction with stakeholders & leadership
  • Self-motivated requiring minimal guidance from management
