In this role, youll lead the India Sales team and have cross functional responsibility to set, drive and execute your sales strategy. This is a high impact & strategic role that will be highly visible and will be responsible to drive sustainable growth across the India market.

How You Will Contribute:

You will play a key leadership role; setting strategy; building and leading a high performance team; influencing and collaborating across the entire Ciena organization including technical (PLM & R&D), Supply chain, finance, marketing, commercial, partner management and portfolio teams to put Ciena in the best position to succeed in the India market long term. Critical areas of focus will be to set the vison, align the team and driving to high results. Leading with passion, energy, compassion and resilience, owning the customer engagement at C level down, ensuring full alignment.

You will be directly responsible for:

  • Leading the India Sales region
  • Direct headcount of 15-20 sales talent. Creating an environment where the team are inspired, engaged and can grow at Ciena; Indirect responsibility for co-ordinating all GTM resources ~60 including engineering, service operations and business partners
  • A critical member of the International Leadership team, accountable for driving and delivering on our "ONE TEAM" 3-5 year strategic plan and the India Country Leadership team, serving as a cross functional champion for our 2000+ Ciena India population.
  • You will own, influence and drive broad and complex engagements across the entire customer base, market stakeholders, government/ industry.
  • Deliver world class customer experiences, through collaboration, influence and innovation
  • Setting budgets; Managing accurate forecasts; and long term business plans.
  • Accountable for India meeting/exceeding order, revenue and margin budgets; ensuring process and governance is followed including Ciena code of conduct and business ethics

  • Sales Strategy- develop and execute the India Sales Strategy to maintain and/or increase market share
  • Sales leadership expertise - the ability to define vison, set objectives and empower/support the team to achieve the desired outcomes. Leverage a depth of sales leadership experience, customer knowledge (decision making and services management) and relationships at an executive level across the telecommunications industry, with strong cross domain experience

The Must Haves:

  • Depth of team Leadership experience and proven track record to create a highly engaged team, leading a team of experienced managers
  • Proven ability to build strong customer relationships, lead and grow executive customer relationships, to support deals and future growth.
  • Experience selling complex services coupled with knowledge of Optical, Ethernet/IP networking - including management software and tools and broad portfolio of services
