Chief Operating Office (COO) plays a critical role in leading Citi's Transformation initiatives, which represent the bank's top priorities globally at an enterprise wide level. This includes Citi's Data Governance Plan, which is being developed to bring the bank forward to per the direction set in Citi's Enterprise Data Strategy. The COO, in partnership with the Enterprise Chief Data Office (EO), will be focused on delivering against the commitments outlined in the Data Governance Plan including a governance framework, as well as several foundational data capabilities.
This role will provide support to end-to-end oversight and management of enterprise-wide and cross functional transformation initiatives, ensuring timely issue identification, escalation of risks, and effective remediation solutions. The individual will provide support to complex, global programs and effectively support successful completion of all programs through management reporting and initiative or program level support.
Responsibilities:
• Independently drive progress and supports planning, directing and coordination of day-to-day activities of running a program or portfolio of programs within Data Transformation
• Understand the key business deliverables required for a Project/Program and the associated dependencies on other programs to ensure all dependencies are actively managed
• Applies in-depth understanding of how areas collectively integrate within the sub-function as well as coordinate and contribute towards the objectives of the entire function
• Assess creation and signoff of program plan and charter, benefits management plan, stakeholder management plan, acceptance plan, and central program issue log.
• Review program plans to ensure it meets business needs as described in the program initiation documents.
• Ensure proactive management of deliverables such that risks/issues are escalated in a timely manner to the Program Director, or Program Sponsor, when appropriate.
• Manage and provide credible challenge to program/project plans, risks, issues and changes
• Maintain portfolio level view of risk/issue log and assist in creation of the program risk remediation plan/strategy.
• Ensure adherence to Citi approved PM standard procedures (CPMC) and tools as applicable for program and project management which includes PTS 2.0 and Citi Risk and Controls. Identify and escalate gaps in aligned Projects and Programs.
• Participate in CPMC communication and training activities and cascade key messages as needed to ensure awareness and understanding of PM procedures and tools within the program team
• Consolidated Project Plan Maintenance:
+ Maintain consolidated cross initiative (program group level) plans in MS Project
+ Ensure quality of data in individuation submissions as well as consolidated plans.
+ Ensure compliance with Citi's Transformation Program Office guidelines and Citi Program Management policies and standards and maintain compliance to these policies.
• Status Reporting:
+ Facilitate the collection of status reports and aggregation into required reporting packs for consumption by senior management team and use in various governance forums/meetings. Provide written and verbal status updates as requested to senior management
+ Review status reports submitted for relevancy, correctness, and provide challenge to content with the submitter to enable quality reporting
+ Manage the program tracking and reporting processes for the Data Transformation (DGP) including Steering / Operating Committee reporting, Weekly Program Management Reporting
+ Analysis - Analyze documentation, data and metrics provided to identify risk, performance and quality issues and significant variances and trends and develop reports for senior management
Qualifications:
• Overall Experience of 9-11 years with hands-on execution experience on program management and a good exposure to program governance activities.
• Good interpersonal skills, collaboration across large organizations, including a proactive and 'no surprises' approach in communicating issues/requests
• Strong communication skills (written, verbal and interpersonal), including tact, diplomacy, and ability to engage/influence at the senior management level
• Integrity, maturity, dependability, a positive professional attitude and capable of managing internal relationships
• Excellent project management skills with a good track record in driving positive and sustained change with willingness to "roll up sleeves"
• Ability to think strategically, analytically, and creatively problem solve as well as multi-task effectively and efficiently
• Experience and ease in interfacing with Senior Management preferred
Education:
• Bachelor's/University degree or equivalent experience, potentially master's degree
• Sound experience of working on Data related initiatives in the past would be good
• PMP certification would be preferred
