Job Title- VP - Planning

Location- Mumbai

Role Description

The vacancy falls within Treasury Planning & Performance Management team, where responsibilities are split into three areas: Balance Sheet Liquidity and Issuance, Funds Transfer Pricing and Performance Management.

  • Balance Sheet, Liquidity and Issuance transforms business balance sheet plans into liquidity and funding projections and calculates group projections of key regulatory metrics (e.g. NSFR)
  • Funds Transfer Pricing allocates Treasury funding costs to businesses using the funds transfer pricing framework
  • Performance management projects the activities of Treasury as a business and monitors subsequent performance against the Banks strategy

Your key responsibilities

The remit will be to own the Run the Bank processes across the Planning & Performance Management remit, especially monthly forecasting, annual planning and own the automation/innovation agenda to move us from manual driven processes to more technology enabled landscape & published via visualisation tools. The responsibilties broadly includes:
  • Liquidity, balance sheet, FTP, external cost forecasting and planning processes
Organising input providers and running calculations

Providing output and explain and context

Dealing with a changing framework and building an agile process which means heavy content understanding * Automation agenda, migrating from Excel / TITAN to more efficient processes with Tableau based visualization / publishing

The core deliverables for the roles are:
  • Primary focus on leading the team and driving Group planning & forecasting activities related to Treasurys external P&L incurred in funding the bank or managing interest rate risk, as well as the business revenue impacts from application of Funds Transfer Pricing to business balance sheets.
  • Oversight of modelling liquidity / funding consequences of business balance sheet forecasts and plans to enable steering decisions and P&L projection
  • Lead and drive the innovation agenda for the Planning team, in particular leveraging technology development capabilities within the team
  • Lead the improvement of data management to maximise efficiency
  • Improve controls of the planning & forecasting tools to ensure accurate reporting
  • Break down complex problems through self-guided research to drive efficient solutions.
  • Produce analytics to inform Senior Management and enable Treasury execution
  • Production of performance tracking and explain the trends
  • Perform adhoc analysis as required to support business or senior management requests.
  • Support any regional FTP planning and forecasting requests when needed.
  • Involvement in Treasury change initiatives including working with IT on automation of FTP forecasting and planning
  • Producing and maintaining up to date FTP Planning documentation
Your skills and experience
  • A degree in accounting (Chartered Accountant or equivalent)/ MBA (Finance)/CFA/FRM with at least 10 to 15 years of professional experience in PnL, accounting or similar topic
  • A strong understanding of Financial Resource Management concepts
  • Strong numerical and analytical skills
  • Effective organizational and inter-personal skills to effectively engage with various stakeholders across all levels
  • Highly motivated and self-sufficient - an individual with ability to be directed with high precision and reliability
  • Able to prioritize competing tasks in a dynamic environment and to work under time pressure with attention to detail
  • Ability to escalate issues and seek guidance
  • Innovative problem solver
  • Effective Presentation skills
  • Advanced Excel and PowerPoint capabilities is a must
  • Knowledge of Python, SQL, VBA and/ or visualisation tools such as Tableau or Qlikview would be an advantage
