Introduction: The role holder will be responsible for the leadership and oversight for all Quality Control (QC) activities across new on-boarding, Periodic Reviews and Event Driven Review lifecycles - including KYC and Regulatory Classifications for the Corporate and Investment Banking businesses. The Client On-Boarding & Refresh teams cover a highly varied & complex portfolio of entities - involving highly complex structures, entities, and product offerings. This function is critical during both on-boarding and other reviews to ensure that the KYC process effectively mitigates the risks of Money Laundering, Bribery and Corruption, reputational and any other associated risks. With this in mind, the role holder needs to have extensive experience within KYC, and a demonstrable strong knowledge of the AML/KYC environment including leading and motivating large high performing teams with a focus on high standards, quality, client service, controls, execution and delivery Key stakeholders in this role are - Operational KYC counterparts, Quality Assurance, Financial Crime (2nd line of defence), Senior management & global counterparts, Sales/ Front Office, and Audit. This individual will be the key representative and focal point in the team for all quality and KYC procedural subjects. Working closely with stakeholders to both standardize and clarify requirements and proactively identify future issues with procedures/process. Driving forward and influencing change is therefore essential in this role. This role is a management role and involves line management of circa 60-70 Quality Control Analysts/ Managers. Strategic planning and the development of these individual will be a key aspect of this role. Lead, manage and motivate a high performing team with a focus on high standards, quality, customer service, controls, execution and delivery . Build a best in class \'Go To\' team for expertise and embed culture of \'Right First Time\' across the department . Management / Oversight of all Quality Control activity being conducted - ensuring the QC team hold appropriate knowledge/ability and work is assigned appropriately, utilizing expertise effectively. Raising issues and ensuring appropriate actions are undertaken before KYC approval. . Ensure that thorough & effective Customer Due Diligence is completed, by conduct Quality Control Assessments on entities/structures across all business lines (predominantly the complex structure/entities/product offerings) - including New Business, Periodic Reviews and Event Driven Reviews. Raising issues and ensuring appropriate actions are undertaken before KYC approval. . Liaising with Quality Assurance on any issues identified within the QA process, to consider impact and where needed make relevant changes to the QC process. In addition, where remedial action is required - liaising and notifying the operational leads accordingly. . Working with 2nd Line and Operational leads to understand, challenge and implement any changes to procedures. . Deliver and support continuous improvement mindset, establishing KPI, and SLAs to deliver effective and efficient KYC process. . Performance management and ongoing training and development of the team . Act as a management point of contact in relation to all Client On-Boarding & Refresh Quality Control aspects. The role holder will be required to represent the team and potentially the division/bank to key stakeholders on these matters. . Keep self and team abreast of developments in current trends and progress on money laundering, bribery and corruption and it prevention . Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across Technology and Operations in order to champion or challenge policy and procedural changes as needed . Embed a strong control framework and embed a culture of proactive risk management . Provide focused training and coaching support and inculcate best practice sharing to drive \'Right First Time\' performance, improve standards and increase awareness throughout the wider teams . Ownership and management of Quality MI metrics to be assessed with the team and presented to senior management, key stakeholders . Inspire and drive high performance in individuals and the team, enabling each member to understand their role in team and organization success . Champion colleague engagement within your teams and across the wider business - ensuring the Barclays Purpose, Values and Behaviours are at the heart of everything we do . As part of Wholesale Onboarding Leadership team, participate and contribute to regional and global strategic initiatives What we\'re looking for: . Few years\' experience in a financial institution (preferably in the Corporate/ Investment Banking domain), with relevant years in direct people management role . An exceptional leader with the ability to successfully build and manage teams and functions . Demonstrates gravitas with the ability to manage and influence at a senior executive level across both internal and external stakeholders and clients . Extensive experience within KYC, and a demonstrable strong knowledge of the AML/KYC environment preferably in the Corporate Banking and/or Investment Banking domain . Strong planning and operational management background, experience in managing large and diverse operational teams . Detailed understanding of Investment and Corporate Banking industry, specifically focused on AML/KYC processes . Ability to contribute effectively when working with senior colleagues, across the breadth of business/strategic issues . Proven ability to prioritise effectively, setting direction and targets, balancing resources and management stake and Proven Leadership experience including recruitment, structuring, leading and motivating operational teams to deliver results against stretching performance targets Skills that will help you in the role: . ACAMS or similar professional certification relevant to AML/ KYC domain . Analytical and complex problem solving being able to balance the need to meet regulatory and risk management requirements along with excellent client and colleague engagement . Strong process optimisation experience across complex, regulatory in nature processes . Strong numerical and analytical skills gained in a professional environment with a proven track record in financial services industry .
