We aim to be where the growth is, enabling businesses to thrive and economies to prosper, and, ultimately, helping people to fulfil their hopes and realise their ambitions.We are currently seeking an experienced professional to join our team in the role of VP \xe2\x80\x93 Financial Accounting, Holding Company Group GSCGlobal Finance Operations is the backbone of the Finance function, responsible for production activity and end-to-end processes for our global businesses and legal entities.We have a global footprint and we operate within a robust control environment, eliminating operational risk and driving efficiency and effectiveness as one team.Financial Accounting Operations (FA Ops) is responsible to provide outstanding support to the Financial Controllers in the areas of Period End Close (PE), External reporting (i.e IFRS/FINREP/GSIB/CE, Regulatory Reporting, Statutory Reporting, Notes to the Accounts etc), Site Reporting (MI and manual returns) and Balance Sheet Substantiation. FA Ops ensures that there are adequate controls on the sourcing, preparation and reporting for all outputs to be produced.Principal responsibilitiesWe are currently seeking an expert individual to join this team in the role of VP \xe2\x80\x93 Financial Accounting \xe2\x80\x93 Holding Company Group

  • Financial Accounting for these entities including period end close, accounting controls and balance sheet substantiation leading into IFRS reporting which is a key input into the GFR process.
  • Annual Statutory accounts preparation including planning, coordinating, with various stakeholders including Auditors, Tax, Cosec., Treasury, Fin. Control, Board of directors etc.
  • Running impairment testing for Investment in Subsidiaries and Non-Financial Assets as per IAS 36. Producing final memo and getting it reviewed with respective stakeholders.
  • Manage and continuous monitoring of adequacy of internal controls in the process. Establish and run a strong quality control framework for outputs and activities in end-to-end process.
  • The role holder will play an important role in supporting Group Treasury and Group Financial Control in strategic transactions (capital and funding, Group restructures and M&A activity) and is also responsible for resolving accounting issues and judgements, leading the relationship with external auditors and in implementing solutions and accounting requirements for new products. Ensuring accurate accounting for complex events such as merger, restructure, dividend distributions, share based payment, pensions etc. under IFRS.
  • Writing up papers and presenting them to key committees like Balance Sheet Steering Committee, external auditors, senior management etc on key matters and issues.
  • Providing robust analytical review of Financial Statements and key MI.
  • Ensure robust balance sheet substantiation with adequate evidence of review of in scope accounts.
  • Coordinate with the group finance teams for preparation of accounts, timely closure of GL, completion of Site Reporting.
  • Deliver process improvement / efficiency. Partner with change management to support continuing process re-engineering initiatives.
  • Lead the team with example including effective coaching, mentoring and developing their skill for their future career growth.
  • Drive governance on exceptions. Seek inputs from various stakeholders.
  • Lead new projects/assignments/process: Identify, Drive, Build & operate it as BAU.
  • Connect with other departments for end to end and satisfactory service delivery.
RequirementsRequirements
  • CA/CPA/ACCA/MBA/ICWAI with at least 12+ years of post-qualification experience in accounting and reporting.
  • Prior experience in month end close/Reporting processes and Statutory Reporting is required.
  • Excellent communication skills, including experience of explaining complex technical matters simply. Strong command over spoken and written English is essential for the role.
  • Experience of Holding Company in Group or Regional consolidation is preferred.
  • Ability to deal with and analyse unstructured problems and queries and to question and challenge existing procedures.
  • Proven track record of role in controllership in BFSI sector and sound knowledge of financial products and businesses.
  • Effectively manage key relationships with senior stakeholders, including the Finance Controller Group Entities, Financial Controller Group Holding Companies
  • Good knowledge/prior experience in usage of technology-based solutions will have an added advantage.
  • Experience of being part of a major transformation/change programme.
  • Experience of working with colleagues and stakeholders cross-border in a multinational organization.
  • Working/detailed knowledge of risk and control frameworks and remediation.
