Identify the underlying risk that exists in Balance Sheet and provide a view to CFO / Risk committee as appropriate.

Review to ensure the Integrity, accuracy, and completeness of the GL, detect inconsistencies and review variances and rectify any accounting error prior to book close window.

Processes
Perform high quality review of IFRS Financials and disclosures for external publication, ensuring no material misstatements.
To work closely with the R2R controllers Unit Head in managing the Financial Controls and Risk function.
To ensure financial control policies and compliance monitoring measures are in place and being adhered to and to ensure a robust financial control environment in the Bank.
Embed the Controllership with Reporting model ensuring the end client is kept at the centre of the model ensuring it serves the intended purpose efficiently and effectively.
Identify and present Financial and Operational Risk to the Senior Managements (CFO, Cluster CFO and Reg CFO, etc) through various Risk FORUMs like FORTM, ERC, CORC, SRM, etc.
To support CFO declaration / reduction of Group Queries.
Represent Financial Control for New product sign off process.
People and Talent
Lead through example and build the appropriate culture and values.
Set appropriate tone and expectations from their team and work in collaboration with risk and control partners.
Ensure the provision of ongoing training and development of people and ensure that holders of all critical functions are suitably skilled and qualified for their roles ensuring that they have effective supervision in place to mitigate any risks.
Set and monitor job descriptions and objectives for direct reports and provide feedback and rewards in line with their performance against those responsibilities and objectives.
Risk Management
The ability to interpret the Group\xe2\x80\x99s financial information, identify key issues based on this information and put in place appropriate controls and measures.
Governance
Strengthen the Control Governance framework for Financial Control.
Monitor and ensure that appropriate Change governance is followed across all transformation initiatives. Represent the function at the governance forums in place for tracking change initiatives and influence decisions in respect of the change backlog, prioritisation, choice of technology tools and the operating model.

Our Ideal Candidate
Qualified Chartered Accountant / MBA Finance / CFA.
Minimum 15 years of work experience in Banking Finance and Audit.
Should have strong experience in implementation of strategic changes and strong Business Analytic skills.
Should have strong knowledge and understanding of data management, data quality and its linkage in driving business performance management.
Good eye for detail and with a strong focus on controls and compliance to policies and procedures.
Demonstrated experience of influencing decisions at senior leadership level.
Strong stakeholder engagement skills and ability to work with cross cultural teams.
Experience of working in a global organisation in a matrix environment.
