Purpose
Execute the VMO Strategy, Planning and Compliance function activities and initiatives to ensure:
Strategy-led demand management and planning for supplier investments
Sustained performance and compliance of supplier contracts at best-in-class industry levels.
Business Context
The UniOps organisation provides the resilient digital platform for the Unilever business. UniOps spends more than \xe2\x82\xac1B each year with external vendors, and the quality and value of vendor services are critical to the success of Unilever.
The Vendor Management Office (VMO) is a new agile, cross-functional organisation that will transform the way that UniOps manages suppliers and the value we gain from our supplier spend. The VMO will:
Coordinate the change to a new proactive operating model, building collaboration across functions to maximize value from our supplier spend.
Be the engine that amplifies delivery of value from a new Collaborative Procurement Model that plans supplier decisions much further ahead, across whole areas of spend rather than individual contracts, and ensures best alignment with our business strategies.
Assure the performance and compliance of suppliers and will ensure that we have the right data to deliver ever more value year on year.
Provide end-to-end orchestration, and governance of vendor management activities across UniOps.
Objectives
Proactive, strategy-led planning of supplier investments, aligned consistently across UniOps, coordinated in a collaborative model with Procurement and stakeholders.
Data and analytics for continuous improvement in the value that UniOps gains from supplier spend.
Sustained performance and compliance of supplier contracts at best-in-class industry levels.
Robust and proactive governance, with resources prioritised against highest value activities.
Key Accountabilities
Enable the execution of the VMO Strategy, Planning and Compliance activities and initiatives in collaboration with VMO leads, service lines and other functional teams.
Execute a model for proactive and robust capture of the pipeline of Service Line demand across UniOps for validation, and reconciliation.
Forecast and model spend for the demand pipeline, partnering with Service Lines and Finance, to provide granular visibility and to enable strategic prioritisation across portfolios and optimal budgetary decisions.
Lead a central control function that works closely with contract and commercial managers to ensure and audit the adherence of suppliers and contracts to obligations across all areas, including:
Financial Management
Operational Management
Project milestone adherence
Performance Management to agreed thresholds and metrics
Governance & Escalation Management
Privacy, Security, Risk, Legal, and Audit Compliance.
About You
A results-driven, business focused professional with a passion for working strategically.
Strong collaborative working attitude with key stakeholders and business partners
Proven experience and functional knowledge in service delivery and the management of outsourced and third-party contracts, with a good understanding of vendor performance and relationship management.
Strong negotiating skills, with the ability to gain agreement across competing priorities.
Solid familiarity with service governance processes, with a track record of driving improvement over time.
Strong analytical and financial expertise, with attention to detail while retaining focus on broader strategy.
Ability to grow effective relationships across a complex internal and external stakeholder landscape, and to hold others accountable, including peers and senior leadership.
Excellent (verbal and written) communication skills for influence up to C-level.
Knowledge of FMCG and Supply Chain processes an advantage.
