Position Title : VMC Setter

Job Summary:
The VMC (Vertical Machining Center) Setter is responsible for setting up and configuring the Vertical Machining Centers to perform various machining operations such as milling, drilling, tapping, and boring. The setter ensures that the machines are properly prepared for the production of high-quality parts, following engineering drawings, specifications, and safety procedures. The VMC Setter plays a key role in maintaining the efficiency and quality of the machining process while adhering to production schedules.
Key Responsibilities:
• Machine Setup & Configuration:
• Set up and adjust VMC machines for production jobs based on work orders, engineering drawings, and instructions.
• Install and align tools, fixtures, and workpieces on the machine bed/ Rotary Table.
• Select and load the correct cutting tools based on specifications and work requirements.
• Program Loading and Adjustment:
• Adjust machine parameters such as feed rates, spindle speeds, and tool offsets to ensure correct part dimensions and finish.
• Conduct test runs to ensure the program is executing properly and make adjustments as needed.
• Quality Control:
• Hanover initial parts to Quality Control Department and get all parts checked thoroughly
• Monitor the production process to ensure part quality is maintained throughout the run.
• Make adjustments to machine settings or tooling to correct any deviations from the required specifications.
• Ensure that all production documentation, including setup sheets and inspection records, are completed accurately.
• Machine Maintenance & Troubleshooting:
• Report machine malfunctions or issues to the maintenance team for further inspection and repair.
• Safety and Housekeeping:
• Follow all safety procedures and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area to promote safety and efficiency.
• Wear appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
• Collaboration & Communication:
• Communicate with team members, engineers, and supervisors to ensure production targets are met.
• Assist with the training of new or less experienced operators and setters.
• Collaborate with other departments (e.g., tool room, QC) to improve processes and resolve issues.
• Documentation & Reporting:
• Complete production logs, time sheets, and other required documentation in a timely and accurate manner.
• Maintain records of machine setups, adjustments, and quality inspections for traceability.
Qualifications:
• Education : High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or apprenticeship in machining or CNC operations is preferred but any degree is accepted
• Experience : 5+ years of experience in CNC machining, with a focus on VMC setup and operation.
• Skills :
• Strong understanding of CNC machine operations, including vertical machining centres.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and blueprints.
• Proficient in using measuring instruments (calipers, micrometers, gauges).
• Experience with CNC programming languages (e.g., G-code).
• Troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
• Attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality parts.
Working Conditions:
• The role may require standing for extended periods and lifting moderate weights (up to 50 lbs).
• Work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to loud noise, oil, and metal particles.
• PPE such as safety glasses, gloves, and hearing protection may be required.
Additional Requirements:
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Flexibility to work on different shifts, including weekends or overtime if necessary.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: ?14,000.00 - ?35,000.00 per month
