VMC Operator/Setter cum Operator

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Vertical Machining Center (VMC) Operator/Setter cum Operator to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for operating and setting up VMC machines to produce high-quality precision parts according to specifications.

1. Machine Setup: Set up VMC machines by installing and adjusting tooling, fixtures, and workpieces as per job requirements.

2. Programming: Develop and modify CNC programs using CAM software for VMC operations.

3. Operation:Operate VMC machines to produce parts within tolerances, ensuring quality standards are met.

4. Tooling and Material Handling:Select, load, and unload cutting tools and materials for machining operations.

5. Quality Control: Perform in-process and final inspections using precision measuring tools (calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify part dimensions and quality.

6. Maintenance: Conduct routine maintenance on VMC machines, including cleaning, lubrication, and minor repairs.

7. Safety Compliance: Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines to ensure a safe working environment for oneself and others.

8.Documentation: Maintain accurate records of production activities, machine settings, tool changes, and quality checks.

9. Problem Solving: Troubleshoot machine issues, identify root causes of defects, and implement corrective actions.

10. Collaboration: Work closely with supervisors, engineers, and production team members to optimize machining processes and achieve production targets.

High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in CNC machining is a plus.

Minimum of 5 years of experience as a VMC operator/setter, with knowledge of CNC programming and G-code.

Proficiency in reading engineering drawings, blueprints, and technical specifications.

Strong mechanical aptitude and understanding of machining principles.

Familiarity with CAM software (e.g., Mastercam, SolidCAM) and CNC controls (Fanuc, Siemens).

Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and problem-solving skills.

Ability to work independently, prioritize tasks, and meet production deadlines.
