Position Background and Responsibilities

Scenario Analytics is seeking a strong candidate at the level of Vice President to lead the team in Mumbai. The candidate will be responsible for the team in a variety of initiatives like Macro forecasting model development, Production activities for forecast generation under different scenarios, Data preparation for model development and production, Monitoring of macroeconomic and market indicators etc. The candidate needs to collaborate within the team and across a range of functional groups to timely fulfill the deliverables for various initiatives.



Primary Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Lead the Mumbai Scenario Analytics team in development, monitoring, and enhancement activities of forecasting models for macroeconomic and market variables.
• Lead the team in the review of variable projections for various regulatory and internal exercises of the firm.
• Lead the data updates and quality checks for Scenario Generation model development and production activities for budgeting as well as several regulatory and internal stress-testing exercises.
• Lead in developments/enhancements of Data Quality check algorithms and code-based implementation.
• Lead production activities for Mumbai team owned Scenario Generation exercises.
• Lead the team in researching on different macroeconomic and market variables and actively participate in the economic/financial interpretation of the data
• Contribute towards documentation of models and their results.
• Participate in design of new methodologies and various ad hoc analyses as may be required time to time.
• Act as an SME in development and implementation of various functions into strategic systems and participate in and lead UAT
• Lead team in various developments/enhancements in the data consolidation process which include creation of synthetic variables, fill-forward methodologies, code efficiency improvements etc.
• Evaluate data limitations and actively participate in proposing and implementing mitigations.
• Liaising with risk managers and various business units across the firm.
• Communicate with stakeholders, Internal Audit Department, Model Validation, Regulatory agencies, etc. and responding to their requests in a timely and accurate manner.
• Leading the team in ad hoc initiatives involving, research or tool development as may be required for enhancements to business performance



QUALIFICATIONS


Required Qualifications

• Master's/Bachelor's/Advanced degree in Finance, Mathematics, Physics, Economics, Engineering, or other quantitative subjects
• 10+ years of experience at a financial institution or a consulting firm, preferably on a Quant/ Data Science role in a data-rich environment



Skills Required


• Strong quantitative and analytical skills and ability to work with diverse cultures in a global team.
• The candidate needs to be familiar with different statistical techniques viz. Regressions Analysis, Hypothesis testing, Econometrics, etc.
• Proven track record of leading quantitative/analytical teams.


- Knowledge and hands-on experience in one of the programming languages - R (preferable), Python

• Proficient in Excel and knowledge of SQL
• Basic knowledge of financial markets and macroeconomics
• Familiarity with Stress-testing and other Risk Management concepts
• Be self-motivated, adaptable, have good attention to detail and willing to assume extended responsibility
• Attention to detail and ability to prioritize projects and workload
• Self-motivated team player who brings a can-do approach
• Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced team-oriented environment
• Strong communication skills; ability to present complex and technical issues clearly, both verbally and in writing



Desirable Skills

• High proficiency in programing in R/Python
• Prior quantitative modeling experience in Finance/ Data Science
• Well versed in major economic and financial market indicators
