  • Act as a senior leader of the Operation function, working alongside the Head of Issuer Services Operations to lead the direction and coordination of Loan Agency operations activities across City offices.
  • Direct management and oversight of resources and relationships with senior business heads.
  • Contribution towards sustainable savings in relation to Process Efficiencies
  • Ensure the risk governance framework is followed, and that escalation paths are adhered to.
  • To plan for standardization of Issuer Services processes by sharing the best practices across the various markets with the aim to enhance cost effectiveness and efficiencies.
  • As a member of the Issuer Services management team, contribute to the broader strategy and performance of the global function.
  • Principal point of contact for Issuer Services City Office governance arrangements.
  • Evidence of an active role within the Issuer Services leadership group - feedback from management line, peers and stakeholders (360 feedback)
  • Evidence of strong working relationships with key stakeholders across Issuer Services, Issuer Services Senior Management across city offices.
  • Effective understanding of the Issuer Services risk operating model, built on a strong understanding of Issuer Services business requirements and capability. Efficiency and effectiveness of risk management activities - including evidence of optimal resource allocation and robust cost control.
  • Ensure the smooth running of utility Operations teams in KL and Kolkata, making sure there is a culture of streamlining/Quality/Productivity and risk awareness and BAU deliverables, quality & timeliness are being met as per agreed PLA.
Requirements
  • Degree in finance and accounting and/or related qualifications and/or relevant work experience.
  • Prior work experience in Loan agency and admin environment mandatory; Knowledge of Syndicated /Bilateral loans across different sectors like Corporate/Real estate/LAF and Export finance clients.
  • Strong leadership skills evidenced by achievement of objectives together with a track record of development of individuals with strong organization and planning skills along with the ability to handle capacity and MI reporting.
  • Deep understanding of HSBC structures, processes and objectives, with specific working knowledge of Securities products operating within an investment bank environment; Ability to build and maintain relations with business units and continuously give feedback by stringent follow up on service level agreements.
  • Evidence of strong analytical, statistical and data mining skills to study trends, make projections and to interpret numeric information; Evidence of strong operational decision making and be able to provide support to the teams.
  • Experience of successfully managing and developing a team/Individuals in previous role; Evidence of process management skills with an ability to initiate & drive process improvements.
  • Relationship management and collaboration skills: ability to form effective relationships and achieve influence with peers across the organization.
  • Interpersonal skills: proven ability to communicate effectively and confidently at all levels across the Group; Practical experience of major business transformation activities; Proven abilities in managing virtual teams and working across cultures in a global business context. Proven ability to initiate cost control measures by achieving resource efficiency and managing overheads.
  • Will be expected to maintain HSBC internal control standards, including the timely implementation of internal and external audit points, together with any issues raised by external regulators.
  • Must be aware of the operational risk scenarios associated with this role and act upon pertinent risk (if any).
