The purpose of this job is to plan, direct & control end to end Veterinary Extension Services. The Incumbent is responsible for working closely with milk procurement partners, milk producers & bulk cooler facilitators for milk quality improvement (including contaminant control) to ensure contaminant free milk sourcing, developing big cow farms, provide vision to the department on AW Farms. The incumbent would be responsible for the people development and overall improvement in quality milk.
What you'll do:
Strategy & Planning• Formulate annual plan for the control of contaminants in milk like antibiotics, aflatoxin & melamine in milk.
• To propose CAPEX, OPEX required & its approval.
• Annual plan & strategies for cattle feed supply to milk producers through bulk cooler facilitators.
• Hand on Cattle Feed formulation & manufacturing process.
• Develop the strategy and lay down the road map to achieve the Annual Plan.
• Formulate research & development plans in line with field challenges & business requirements considering cost optimization.
• Understanding Customer's milk quality requirements & considering same in the annual plan to fulfill their requirements.
• Hands on dairy sustainability initiative & understanding Customer's ESG / sustainability requirements & considering same in the annual plan to fulfill their requirements.
• Understanding requirements for export of milk & milk products & prepare documentation in line with business requirements. The incumbent shall have working knowledge on Export certification and Agreement.
• The incumbent shall have good knowledge on EVM Homemade & RTU therapies & its implementation to control contaminants.
• Planning & Execution of Veterinary drugs survey to understand antibiotic usage in the milk shed.
• Designing & implementing Annual Training plan for procurement partners, milk producers & bulk cooler facilitators for milk quality improvement (including contaminant control).


Operation & Efficiency• Plan and direct all aspects of Veterinary Extension Service operations in a manner, which enables continuous and efficient operation.
• Establish and monitor all operating targets for various projects / schemes for Veterinary Extension Dept..
• Maximize the throughput of desired quality by optimizing the resources.
• Ensure coordination between departments for smooth functioning.
• Ensure best practices are established across the departmental processes in order to improve operational efficiency


Financial & Cost Management• Accounting Controls & Procedural for the Cattle Feed Business in coordination with Accounts & Finance Dept.
• To monitor inventory control of Cattle Feed & ensure financial reporting is done regularly.
• Monitor budget and operational targets regularly.
• Ensure effective cost management to reduce cost.
• Hands on ERP working.


What you need to succeed:• B.V.Sc. with 15 years (min) of relevant experience of which 5 years as a head of department/ M.V. Sc. (Animal Nutrition) with 15 Years (min) relevant experience.
• Well Versed with the technical process of a Veterinary Extension Service operations.
• Attention to detail, accuracy, process-oriented and organized.
• Strong mindset of innovation / R&D to improve on field challenges.
• Strong Communication, IPR & Relationship building skills.
• Strong Analytical & Presentation Skills
• Ability to build sustainable organization capabilities.
• Leading thru Change & innovation
• Able to create vision, establish direction & create roadmaps for SBU's.
