We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Veterinary Assistant to join our growing team.
Job Summary:
As a Veterinary Assistant, you will play a crucial role in supporting veterinarians in the care and treatment of animals. You will be responsible for assisting in various veterinary procedures, maintaining a clean and organized clinic environment, and providing excellent customer service to pet owners.
Key Responsibilities:
• Assist veterinarians during examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures.
• Prepare and maintain examination rooms and surgical areas, ensuring cleanliness and proper sterilization of instruments.
• Restrain animals during examinations and treatments to ensure their safety and the safety of the staff.
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples (blood, urine, etc.) for testing.
• Monitor the health and behavior of animals before, during, and after treatments.
• Provide post-operative care and educate pet owners on aftercare instructions.
• Assist with administrative tasks, including scheduling appointments, managing medical records, and processing payments.
• Maintain inventory of medical supplies and equipment; assist in ordering supplies as needed.
• Communicate effectively with pet owners, providing compassionate care and answering questions regarding their pets' health and treatment plans.
• Ensure compliance with safety and health regulations in the clinic.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent; veterinary assistant certification is a plus.
• Previous experience in a veterinary clinic or animal care facility preferred.
• Knowledge of animal behavior and basic veterinary procedures.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with a customer service orientation.
• Ability to handle animals safely and with compassion.
• Basic computer skills and familiarity with veterinary software is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays as needed.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: ?20,000.00 - ?25,000.00 per month
