We have an urgent opening for Sr. Unix Administrator at Navisite LLC (India) for Gurgaon, Pune, Hyderabad, location or Remote Working Role: Senior Consultant -Unix/Linux Admin Experience: 5 - 15 years Company: Navisite LLC - India Position Summary: Senior Consultant - Unix administrator will be responsible for the installation, configuration, and maintenance of our Unix systems. In addition, this role will troubleshoot server errors, install new system hardware, respond to user issues, and monitor the performance of the servers. Ideal candidate should have in-depth knowledge of UNIX operating systems, excellent troubleshooting skills, and high-level knowledge of computer hardware. A skilled UNIX system administrator will ensure the smooth running of the company\'s computer system and quickly respond to breakdowns and software issues. Qualifications: Bachelor\'s degree in computer science, computer engineering, or a similar field Candidate should have 6 to 10 years relevant experience in Unix system administration Roles and Responsibilities: Diagnose and fix complex hardware, software and network issues Installing and upgrading UNIX system software on servers Create/Modify UNIX file systems Setting up and maintaining UNIX user accounts and access management systems Implementing network and computer system policies Detecting and troubleshooting software and hardware issues Responding to user requests and software errors Monitoring the performance of the system and server Applying patches and upgrades when necessary SAMBA and FTP administration Troubleshooting knowledge on Linux for LDAP integration, NFS, NIS Candidate must ensure that compliance with data protection legislation under the DPA, EU GDPR, any other applicable data protection legislation Previous experience as a UNIX system administrator Experience of working on Linux systems on VMware as well as public clouds like AWS, OCI and Azure Knowledge of network concepts such as the TCP/IP stack, load balancing, firewalls, and iRules Knowledge of UNIX and LINUX operating systems, storage environments, file systems, and network protocols Detailed knowledge of UNIX principles, file editing, UNIX commands, and file manipulation Familiarity with UNIX, LINUX, and LINUX shell scripting Knowledge of networking principles including routing, subnets, TCP, IP, VLANs, and UDP Understanding of backup procedures and storage management Excellent troubleshooting skills In-depth knowledge of computer hardware systems including circuit boards, memory modules, and processors ITIL Certified or a strong working knowledge of ITIL Incident, Problem and Change Management disciplines Ability to work under pressure and remain decisive.
