1.User Research:\xe2\x80\xa2 Conduct user interviews, surveys, and observations to understand the needs and pain points of shop-floor planners and workers.\xe2\x80\xa2 Analyse existing workflows and processes in the manufacturing industry to identify opportunities for improvement.2.Industry Knowledge:\xe2\x80\xa2 Understand manufacturing processes, shop-floor operations, and the specific requirements and challenges of the manufacturing industry.\xe2\x80\xa2 Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to shop-floor planning.3. Visual Design:1. Create clear and organized structures for the user interfaces to support efficient shop-floor planning.2. Design intuitive navigation systems that align with the mental models of manufacturing professionals.3. Develop a visually attractive and consistent design for the software.4. Create high-fidelity mock-ups and design assets, considering factors like colour schemes, typography, and iconography.4.Wireframing and Prototyping:1. Use tools like Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD to create wireframes and interactive prototypes for user testing and validation.2. Iterate designs based on feedback to refine the user experience.5.Usability Testing:1. Plan and conduct usability testing sessions to gather insights into user behaviour and preferences.2. Analyse test results to make data-driven design decisions and improve the overall user experience.3. Ensure that the user interface is responsive and works seamlessly across different devices and screen sizes, considering the varied environments of a manufacturing shop floor.6.Collaboration and Communication:\xe2\x80\xa2 Collaborate with cross-functional teams including developers, product managers, and domain experts to align design with technical feasibility and business goals.\xe2\x80\xa2 Communicate design decisions effectively through presentations, design documentation, and stakeholder meetings.7.Accessibility:\xe2\x80\xa2 Ensure the software is accessible to users with disabilities by following accessibility guidelines (e.g., WCAG) and conducting accessibility testing.8.Problem Solving:\xe2\x80\xa2 Approach design challenges with a problem-solving mindset, considering both user needs and technical constraints.\xe2\x80\xa2 Be open to feedback and iterate on designs to address evolving requirements.9.Project Management:\xe2\x80\xa2 Manage design tasks and timelines effectively, collaborating with the project team to meet milestones and deadlines.
