SUMMARY As a Sr. Interaction Designer specializing in Platform, Design System, and Standards, you will be responsible for shaping the visual and interactive elements of our digital products. Your primary responsibility will be to bring our design system to life within specific product contexts, breathing life into wireframes and creating interactive and intuitive user interfaces. As a member of our Design Systems group, you are passionate about atomic design, mobile and data visualization best practices, and helping internal teams and our users work more efficiently and collaborate more effectively using a common design language. As a senior designer, you will seek opportunities to support, guide, and mentor more junior designers on the team. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Collaborate with product designers and researchers to translate user needs and design goals into intuitive user interfaces.
- Guide Jr. Interaction Designers in the application and understanding of design system guidelines and their application.
- Identify and document core design patterns that can be applied consistently across various projects.
- Work closely with developers and other UX designers to ensure seamless integration of design patterns into the platform.
- Conduct regular reviews to ensure that platform-specific considerations are incorporated into design decisions.
- Advocate for and enforce design standards to maintain a consistent and cohesive user experience.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure alignment with brand guidelines and industry best practices.
- Conduct user research and usability testing to inform the creation of user-friendly and intuitive design patterns.
- Iterate on designs based on user feedback, ensuring continuous improvement.
- Create comprehensive documentation for design patterns, guidelines, and best practices.
- Provide training and support to team members on the use and implementation of design patterns.
- 6-8 years of interaction design experience for software; desktop and mobile applications which leverage emergent technologies
- Systems thinking with proven experience as a UX Designer, with strong focus on design systems and standards.
- Development experience is a plus.
- Conceptualization ability, strong visual communication ability, drawing skills preferred
- Strong working knowledge of design systems and best practices
- Design skills, high production values and attention to detail
- Strong working knowledge of prototyping tools such as Figma or Adobe XD
- Strong understanding of user-centered design principles and methodologies
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills (very important)
- Understanding of common software project management practices
- Understanding of common software development practices
- Basic understanding of HTML/CSS. Development experience is a plus.
- 4-year+ degree, BA or BS in design, information sciences, HCI, or psychology
