The team
Deloitte is working with various Public Sector Clients and International Donor Agencies in the Transport Sector. The team helps the client in addressing their Business Challenges and support in their transformation journey. As part of one such project, the team is looking for a suitable candidate who can bring in the desired qualification and experience to meet the project requirement.
Desired qualifications
• Post Graduate Degree in Social Sciences: Sociology/ Social Works/Social Development/ Political Science/ Planning or equivalent.
• Minimum 20 years relevant post qualification experience and at least 5years' experience in projects for carrying out social impact assessments (SIA)/Social Management Plans (SMP)/ Development and governance in the area of gender equality and social inclusion.
• The specialist should have experience of working on at least 2 projects involving preparation and or implementation of Social Impact assessment (SIA)/preparation & or implementation of mitigation plans/SMP/ experience in handling R&R issues/ gender equality and social inclusion in public places.
• Experience in monitoring implementation of Labor Management Plans/ Process, Conducting Stakeholder Engagement Meetings/Planning & or implementing Grievance Redressal Mechanism are mandatory.
Location and way of working
• Base location: Chennai
• Hybrid is our default way of working. each domain has customized the hybrid approach to their unique needs and it also depends on client engagements.
• This profile is full-time based out of client location and working days will be as per client calendar.
Your role as a Senior Consultant

• Conduct gender assessments and analyses to identify barriers and opportunities for women, differently abled persons, and other marginalized groups in accessing transport services.
• Develop strategies and action plans to address identified gaps and promote inclusive transport solutions.
• Integrate gender considerations and social inclusion principles into all aspects of urban transport planning and implementation.
• Provide inputs to policy and strategic development related to social development and gender equality in urban transport.
• Conduct research and case studies on best practices and innovations in gender-responsive urban transport planning and implementation.
• Collaborate with government agencies, and community organizations to advocate for gender-responsive urban transport policies and programs.
• Preparation on Grievance redressal Mechanism/Framework to address the complaints of community and resolve solutions.
• Conduct Social Screening to identify and evaluate the potential social impacts on various stakeholders and communities.
• Prepare Social Impact Assessment (SIA) report and Social Management Framework (SMF) with suitable mitigation measures for the identified risks.
• Establish mechanisms to monitor the social performance of the project over time, tracking key indicators and outcomes related to social impacts.
• Prepare comprehensive reports documenting the findings of the social screening process, including assessments, consultations, and recommendations for decision-makers.
