Job Description

1. Transportation Planning and Coordination

• Route Planning : Develop efficient and cost-effective transportation routes for deliveries and pickups.
• Scheduling : Plan and schedule transportation activities to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
• Resource Allocation : Ensure that the right number of vehicles and drivers are available to meet operational needs.

2. Driver Management

• Driver Supervision : Supervise and manage a team of drivers, ensuring they follow company policies and safety standards.
• Training : Provide regular training to drivers on safety procedures, vehicle maintenance, and compliance with regulations.
• Performance Monitoring : Track and evaluate the performance of drivers, addressing any performance issues or violations.
• Compliance Monitoring : Ensure drivers comply with local, state, and federal regulations, such as hours of service (HOS), licenses, and permits.

3. Fleet Management

• Vehicle Maintenance : Ensure that the fleet is well-maintained, coordinating regular inspections and servicing to minimize downtime.
• Inventory Management : Oversee vehicle inventory, ensuring that the fleet is in good working condition and that spare parts are stocked.
• Fuel Management : Monitor fuel usage, implement cost-saving measures, and ensure efficient fuel management practices.

4. Logistics & Operations Management

• Delivery Tracking : Monitor the progress of deliveries and ensure that all shipments are made on time and according to customer specifications.
• Problem Resolution : Handle issues related to delays, accidents, or operational challenges, taking corrective actions when needed.
• Documentation : Maintain accurate records of shipments, vehicle logs, delivery receipts, and driver activities.

5. Safety & Compliance

• Regulatory Compliance : Ensure all transportation activities comply with local, state, and federal transportation laws and regulations (e.g., DOT regulations).
• Safety Standards : Monitor safety performance and ensure that drivers and vehicles follow safety protocols and best practices to minimize accidents or damage.
• Accident Investigation : Investigate any accidents or incidents involving company vehicles and drivers and report findings to senior management.

6. Budgeting and Cost Control

• Cost Management : Monitor and control the transportation budget, looking for ways to reduce costs, such as optimizing routes, reducing fuel consumption, or minimizing overtime.
• Invoice Verification : Ensure that all transport-related invoices are accurate and in line with company agreements, processing them for payment.

7. Customer Service

• Customer Communication : Act as a liaison between the transport team and customers, ensuring that delivery schedules are met and addressing any issues or concerns.
• Delivery Quality : Ensure that products are delivered in good condition and that customers are satisfied with the service.

8. Reporting and Analysis

• Data Analysis : Collect and analyze transportation data to identify trends, inefficiencies, or areas for improvement.
• Reporting : Prepare and present regular reports to senior management on transportation performance, costs, and key performance indicators (KPIs).

9. Emergency Management

• Crisis Management : Develop and implement contingency plans for emergencies (e.g., vehicle breakdowns, accidents, bad weather) to minimize disruptions.
• Coordination : Coordinate with other departments (e.g., warehousing, customer service) in case of unforeseen delays or emergencies.

10. Vendor & Contractor Management

• Third-party Relationships : Manage relationships with external transport vendors or contractors, ensuring that service standards are met.
• Contract Negotiation : Negotiate contracts with third-party transport providers, ensuring competitive rates and favorable terms for the company.

11. Technology Utilization

• Fleet Management Software : Utilize GPS tracking, route optimization tools, and fleet management software to streamline operations.
• Data-Driven Decisions : Leverage technology and analytics to improve transportation efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance performance.

12. Team Leadership and Development

• Team Building : Lead, motivate, and develop the transport team, ensuring that all employees are trained and well-equipped to perform their duties.
• Conflict Resolution : Address and resolve any conflicts or issues within the team, maintaining a productive and positive work environment.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: ?15,000.00 - ?20,000.00 per month
