JJob Title : Construction Electrician Trainer

Location :Thane

Job Type : Full-Time / Part-Time / Contract

Reports To : Training Manager / Director of Training and Development

Job Summary :

We are seeking an experienced Construction Electrician Trainer to provide comprehensive training to apprentices, journeymen, and other electrical workers. The trainer will be responsible for delivering theoretical and practical instruction in electrical installations, maintenance, safety, and compliance with industry regulations. The ideal candidate should have a deep understanding of electrical codes, hands-on experience in the construction industry, and a passion for educating and developing future electricians.

Key Responsibilities :

• Curriculum Development & Delivery :
• Design and implement training programs, modules, and lesson plans for construction electricians.
• Provide hands-on instruction in electrical installations, wiring systems, conduit bending, and other construction-related electrical work.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the learning needs of various skill levels, from apprentices to advanced workers.
• Technical Instruction :
• Teach electrical theory, blueprint reading, and industry-specific tools and equipment.
• Provide training on the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of electrical systems used in construction.
• Demonstrate proper use of tools, equipment, and best practices for electrical work.
• Safety Training :
• Educate trainees on electrical safety standards, including OSHA and local safety regulations.
• Ensure all participants understand and follow safety protocols, such as lockout/tagout procedures and the proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Conduct safety drills and simulate real-life scenarios to prepare trainees for emergency situations.
• Code and Standards Compliance :
• Train on the National Electrical Code (NEC) or local electrical codes and regulations, ensuring trainees are up-to-date on current standards.
• Ensure all instruction and training sessions adhere to relevant codes and best practices in electrical construction work.
• Assessment & Certification :
• Monitor, evaluate, and provide feedback on the progress of trainees through written tests, practical exams, and field assessments.
• Prepare trainees for certification exams and licensure required by local or national electrical governing bodies.
• Track the progress of each trainee and report to the management team on outcomes and areas for improvement.
• Hands-On Supervision :
• Oversee on-site and workshop training sessions, ensuring proper execution of electrical installations and safety compliance.
• Provide direct guidance and mentorship to trainees as they practice their skills in real-world settings.
• Continuous Professional Development :
• Stay updated on the latest trends and technological advancements in the electrical construction industry.
• Attend industry seminars, workshops, and training programs to enhance personal skills and ensure high-quality training content.

Qualifications :

• Experience :
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a licensed electrician, with a focus on construction projects.
• Proven experience in a supervisory or teaching role is preferred.
• Certifications & Licenses :
• Journeyman or Master Electrician license (as required by region).
• Certification as a professional instructor or relevant teaching credential is a plus.
• Current certification in OSHA electrical safety standards.
• Skills :
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, installation techniques, and relevant electrical codes (NEC, etc.).
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to assess and adapt to different learning styles.
• Patience, leadership, and the ability to inspire and motivate trainees.

Physical Requirements :

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Capable of working in both indoor and outdoor environments, including construction sites.
• Must be comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces, as needed.
