Job Description

Job Summary:

The Traffic In-Charge is responsible for overseeing and managing the efficient flow of vehicles within the transport industry. This role involves coordinating with drivers, scheduling deliveries, ensuring compliance with safety regulations, and optimizing routes to handle large volumes of transport activities. The ideal candidate will have strong organizational skills, excellent communication abilities, and experience in the transport or logistics industry.

Key Responsibilities:

• Traffic Management:
• Coordinate the movement of vehicles to ensure timely deliveries and pickups.
• Monitor and manage the traffic flow within the transport yard and loading/unloading zones.
• Implement and oversee traffic control measures to enhance efficiency.
• Scheduling and Dispatching:
• Create and manage daily schedules for drivers and vehicles.
• Optimize routes to minimize travel time and fuel consumption.
• Assign vehicles and drivers based on delivery priorities and load requirements.
• Compliance and Safety:
• Ensure all transport activities comply with local, state, and federal regulations.
• Conduct regular safety checks and ensure vehicles are maintained in good working condition.
• Provide training and guidance to drivers on safe driving practices and regulatory compliance.
• Coordination and Communication:
• Liaise with clients, suppliers, and internal departments to coordinate transport activities.
• Communicate effectively with drivers to provide instructions and address any issues.
• Handle customer inquiries and resolve transport-related complaints promptly.
• Data Management and Reporting:
• Maintain accurate records of transport activities, including vehicle usage, mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
• Prepare and present regular reports on transport operations and performance metrics.
• Use transport management software to track and analyze transport data.
• Problem Solving:
• Address and resolve any issues related to vehicle breakdowns, traffic delays, or route changes.
• Implement contingency plans to manage unforeseen circumstances and ensure continuity of operations.
• Continuously seek ways to improve transport efficiency and reduce costs.
• Team Management:
• Supervise and support the transport team, including drivers and support staff.
• Conduct performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Foster a positive and collaborative working environment.

Working Conditions:

• This role may require working outside of regular business hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, to meet operational demands.
• The position involves working in an office environment as well as in the transport yard or on the road.

Pay: ?30,000.00 - ?50,000.00 per month
