Job Description


Title: Import Trade Compliance AnalystPosition Overview:The Trade Compliance Specialist will be responsible for supporting the US duty drawback and HTS (Harmonized Tariff Schedule) classification processes. This role involves supporting the US Duty Drawback process thereby optimizing duty recovery processes, and accurately classifying products to maximize efficiency and minimize risks. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in trade compliance, HTS Classification, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.Key Responsibilities:1. US Duty Drawback:a. Manage the duty drawback process, including supporting with the claim filing, maintaining documentation, and ensuring compliance with US Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations.b. Collaborate with internal teams & external Freight forwarders and drawback consultants to identify eligible transactions, documentation and maximize duty recovery.c. Monitor and track duty drawback claims, ensuring timely submission and resolution.2. HTS Classification:a. Accurately classify products using the Harmonized Tariff Schedule (HTS) to ensure compliance with customs regulations.b. Conduct research and analysis to determine the correct HTS codes for new and existing products.c. Maintain and update the HTS classification database/SAP/GTS to reflect changes in product lines3. Collaboration and Support:a. Work closely with cross-functional teams, including logistics, supply chain, finance, and legal, to support trade compliance initiatives.b. Provide training and guidance to internal stakeholders on duty drawback and HTS classification processes and requirements.c. Assist in developing and implementing process improvements to enhance compliance and operational efficiency.4. Audits and Reporting:a. Assist in preparing for and responding to audits by US Customs and any other regulatory bodies.b. Generate regular reports on duty drawback claims and HTS classifications for management review.Qualifications and Experience:\xc2\xb7 Bachelor\'s/ master\'s degree in international Trade, Business, Logistics, or a related field.\xc2\xb7 3-5 years of experience in trade compliance, with a focus on duty drawback and HTS classification.\xc2\xb7 In-depth knowledge HTS classification principles.Technical Skills:\xc2\xb7 Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).\xc2\xb7 Experience with trade compliance software and tools.\xc2\xb7 Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret and apply complex regulations.Other Skills:\xc2\xb7 Attention to Detail: Meticulous in ensuring accuracy and compliance in all aspects of duty drawback and HTS classification.\xc2\xb7 Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to convey complex information clearly and effectively.\xc2\xb7 Organizational Skills: Strong organizational skills to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.\xc2\xb7 Problem-Solving Skills: Ability to identify issues, analyze data, and develop effective solutions.\xc2\xb7 Collaboration: Team player with the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams.\xc2\xb7 Initiative: Proactive approach to identifying opportunities for process improvement and driving positive change.Additional Information
