Job Summary:
The Trade Channel Finance Manager plays a critical role in managing and optimizing the financial performance of trade and distribution channels. This position requires
partnering with sales, marketing, and distribution teams to develop, execute, and monitor trade spend, pricing strategies, and promotional effectiveness. The manager
ensures that all activities align with the companys financial goals and regulatory standards.Key Responsibilities:1. Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
o Manage financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting processes for trade channels.
o Develop financial models to evaluate trade promotions, pricing strategies, and distribution costs.
o Analyze sales performance, gross margins, and trade spend effectiveness across different channels.2. Trade Spend Management:
o Monitor and control trade spending, ensuring accurate allocation of resources.
o Evaluate trade promotions to determine return on investment (ROI) and impact on profitability.
o Ensure compliance with trade agreements and contracts to manage financial risk.3. Pricing & Profitability Analysis:
o Work closely with sales and marketing teams to develop pricing strategies that maximize revenue and profitability.
o Analyze product profitability across different channels and customer segments.
o Assess the financial impact of pricing changes, volume rebates, and discounts.4. Reporting & Analytics:
o Provide detailed financial reporting and analysis on trade channel performance.
o Develop key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness of trade investments.
o Work with demand planning team to ensure projections are in line with budget
o Present insights to senior management to influence strategic decisions.5. Collaboration & Business Partnering:
o Act as a finance business partner to trade, sales, and marketing teams to support strategic initiatives.
o Work closely with cross-functional teams to develop trade marketing plans that align with financial objectives.
o Assist in contract negotiations with distributors and trade partners from a financial perspective.6. Risk Management & Compliance:
o Ensure that trade channel activities adhere to regulatory and internal control standards.
o Develop and enforce policies and procedures to minimize financial risk related to trade activities.
o Conduct audits and assessments to ensure accurate financial reporting.7. Leadership & Team Management:
o Lead and mentor a team of finance professionals, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
o Provide guidance and training to sales and marketing teams on financial matters related to trade channels.
o Foster a culture of continuous improvement and data-driven decision-making.8. Reconciliation with customer ledger:
o Reconciling customer ledger with books to timely adjust CN, CD, invoices & return on quarterly basis
o Follow up on collection wherever delayed o Maintaining DSO as per targetKey Skills & Qualifications:
