Job Description

Identify and select the appropriate stainless steel grade (e.g., 304, 316) based on the project requirements, such as strength, corrosion resistance, and temperature tolerance. Design prototypes or products that incorporate stainless steel, ensuring they meet functional, aesthetic, and durability requirements. Use CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software to create detailed design models of stainless steel parts or products. Oversee or execute processes for shaping, cutting, welding, and assembling stainless steel components. Use specialized tools like CNC machines, lathes, or lasers to work with stainless steel. Perform tests to assess the properties of stainless steel, including strength, flexibility, and resistance to corrosion. Ensure that stainless steel components meet industry standards and regulations. Explore new techniques and technologies related to stainless steel use, such as advancements in surface treatments or alloy compositions. Stay updated with trends in metalworking and manufacturing processes. Maintain stainless steel equipment or products, ensuring they remain functional and corrosion-free. Conduct repairs when necessary, using appropriate techniques for stainless steel material. Ensure safe handling and use of tools and equipment when working with stainless steel, as some processes (e.g., welding) can release hazardous fumes. Follow safety protocols and wear appropriate protective equipment (e.g., gloves, eye protection, welding masks). Work with other engineers, designers, or production teams to ensure the project or product aligns with specifications and deadlines. Communicate any challenges or risks associated with using stainless steel materials in the project. Implement environmentally friendly practices, especially when it comes to recycling or reusing stainless steel scrap.
