Role: Threat Intelligence Analyst
Location: Pune

The Threat Intelligence Analyst is a senior role within the Cyber Defense function of Information Security and is responsible for delivering a program of threat intelligence activities to support operational, tactical and strategic security objectives of Smith & Nephew. The role works with the Global SOC Manager. The work includes partnering closely with other functions within Information Security, with outsourced SOC functions, with the wider IT team including Service Desk, as well as with HR, Legal, Procurement, and other functions. The role interacts with technical resolver teams within Smith & Nephew as well as outsourced suppliers.
What you will doing?• Work on threat intelligence platform to triage and respond to alerts, analyse dashboard information, and review threat intelligence cards and reports. Maintain watch lists in consultation with stakeholder groups. Raise and manage takedown requests, working with Trademark and Legal as required. Manage STIX and TAXII integrations with security platforms.
• Applies Smith+Nephew technology platforms and security tools to conduct investigations such as threat hunting or other proactive investigations outside the security incident process.
• Write comprehensive reports including assessment-based findings, outcomes, and propositions for enhancements to S+N security posture based on changes in the threat landscape, including threat actors, malware and other factors.
• Mentoring and coaching other team members, sharing skills and experience to ensure a good understanding of threat intelligence concepts and how to interpret and act on findings.
• Provide technical domain expertise to projects and initiatives aimed at improving the capability and maturity of Smith & Nephew information security practises.


What you will need to be successful?• Education: Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in Computer Science or related subject preferred. Alternatively, Law Enforcement, Military or Investigative Journalism or close equivalents are also acceptable (degree or experience).
• Licenses/ Certifications: Relevant entry- or mid-level security certifications are advantageous but not required. Job-specific training will be provided.
• Experience: At least 5 years of experience in intelligence-related work or relevant information security positions.
• Extensive experience working hands-on with threat intelligence tools, including OSINT, SOCMINT, ISAC organizations, and commercial tools.
• Full understanding of MITRE ATT&CK for the identification and mapping of attacker tactics, techniques, and procedures (TTPs).
• Experience of supervising threat actor infrastructure, intrusions, and campaigns.
• Ideal candidates will also have experience in threat hunting and/or security incident response.
• Understanding of industry frameworks such as MITRE ATT&CK, MITRE D3FEND, NIST CSFv2, and NIST SP800-61r2. Using a wide range threat intelligence tooling and sources.
• Report writing with effective summarization and visualisation of event timelines. Familiarity with malware and malware frameworks, sandboxing, reverse engineering, host or network intrusion analysis, and digital forensics would be a benefit. Familiarity with ITIL methodology and terminology, as well as ITSM tools.Excellent written and oral communication skills, service attitude, and analytical approach to problem solving.
• Ability to work independently without daily direction, balancing conflicting priorities, and optimally tracking and managing task completion to committed deadlines.
