Key Responsibilities:
• Teaching Chemistry:
• Plan and deliver lessons in Chemistry for students at the secondary school level (grades 9-12).
• Develop lesson plans, activities, and educational resources aligned with the curriculum and school standards.
• Conduct practical demonstrations and experiments in the lab to help students understand theoretical concepts.
• Teach topics like organic chemistry, inorganic chemistry, physical chemistry, biochemistry, and environmental chemistry.
• Assess and evaluate students' progress through tests, assignments, and exams.
• Classroom Management:
• Maintain discipline and ensure a safe, engaging, and respectful classroom environment.
• Encourage active participation and foster curiosity in students.
• Curriculum Development:
• Modify and adapt teaching methods to suit the diverse learning needs of students.
• Update and enhance lesson plans to integrate modern tools, techniques, and experiments.
• Stay updated with current advancements in the field of chemistry and incorporate them into the curriculum.
• Student Evaluation:
• Grade assignments, projects, and exams accurately and provide timely feedback to students.
• Maintain records of student progress and prepare progress reports for parents and school administration.
• Address any academic difficulties students face and provide additional support as needed.
• Lab Supervision:
• Oversee and supervise practical work in the chemistry laboratory.
• Ensure all safety protocols and standards are followed during laboratory sessions.
• Prepare and manage laboratory equipment and materials for experiments.
• Parental Communication:
• Communicate with parents regarding student performance, behavior, and academic concerns.
• Hold parent-teacher meetings to discuss the progress and development of students.
• Professional Development:
• Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences related to Chemistry education.
• Collaborate with colleagues to exchange teaching strategies and improve the teaching-learning process.
• Other Duties:
• Participate in school events, extracurricular activities, and committees.
• Contribute to the overall development of the school community.
