A telecaller, also known as a telemarketer or telephone sales representative, is a company representative who generates sales by contacting potential and existing customers: Outbound calls Make cold calls to potential customers to introduce products or services, explain their benefits, and encourage purchases Inbound calls Manage incoming calls, resolve customer issues, and update customer information Customer relationships Build rapport with potential customers and maintain relationships with existing customers Sales data Create reports and documentation based on conversations, and relay observations to the team lead Sales processes Route opportunities to the relevant department, book appointments for the field sales team, and communicate verbal acceptances of offers to the sales team Customer feedback Collect data on customer experiences and relay it to the relevant divisions Communication Follow scripts or call guides, and modify sales pitches based on customer demand Teamwork Attend regular team meetings and conduct all functions with respect Some skills and qualifications that are useful for telecallers include: Excellent verbal and written communication skills Good listening skills Customer handling skills Ability to handle pressure Knowledge of computer programs like CRM and telephone systems Prior experience working as a telecaller or in a similar role
