Title: Technology ManagerLocation: India; New DelhiSalary: CompetitivePosition: Full-time - Fixed term until November 30, 2025Posted on: November 29, 2024Application deadline: December 20, 6 pm IST (applications may be reviewed as they are submitted)Background: PxD requires a Technology Manager to support the Digital Agriculture Project Management Unit (PMU) staffed within the Ministry of Agriculture and Farmers Welfare (MoA&FW). This person will act as a bridge between innovators of new technologies (e.g. generative AI, natural language processing), smallholder farmers and several government, architecture and technical stakeholders. The role is to provide subject matter expertise and project management support for AI and digital transformation initiatives. This role will play a critical part in coordinating with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) and supporting the IndiaAI mission pillars, while overseeing various technology projects within the MoA&FW and ensuring smooth vendor onboarding. The ideal candidate will have a background in Software Engineering, applied AI, digital product management, and government project coordination.Key Responsibilities:Subject Matter Expertise and Coordination

• Serve as a subject matter expert on AI initiatives
• Support the program team by offering technical insights into AI-related projects, aligning with the IndiaAI mission
• Provide expertise and guidance on drafting AI-related RFPs, working closely with the Program team and AI Officer within the MoA&FW
• Provide technical input into the design of frameworks supporting the evaluation of AI-enabled tools, including chatbots.
• Lead data privacy and cybersecurity governance, oversight and remediation actions for PxD India.

Digital Product Management

• Facilitate vendor onboarding and knowledge transfer for technical vendors sourced through RFPs
• Convert government requests into clear product specifications and RFPs, ensuring alignment with strategic objectives
• Oversee the deployment, integration, and performance of new digital products to meet government requirements

Project Management and Innovation Pipeline

• Create and maintain digital transition plans, such as base documentation for different digital tools launched by the MoA&FW
• Proactively address technical needs for ongoing projects; identify opportunities to support integration across MoA&FWs portfolio of services
• Ensure that new technical requests comply with existing government initiatives and policies, coordinating across technical teams to support successful deployment

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; advanced degree preferred
• Proven experience in Software Engineering, applied AI, digital product management, and/or technical project management
• Experience with security and data privacy best practices
• Excellent project management skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving
• Ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
