Technology Delivery Lead \xe2\x80\x93 IG Incubator Start-up

IG Incubator
We are expanding our share dealing and investing offering, building on our core competencies in design, execution and user experience to deliver a market-leading proposition to new and existing IG customers globally. This will be an incubated business with dedicated teams operating in a start-up fashion.

Join the game-changers
You will lead a brand-new execution team, building realtime trading services for share dealing and investment products. You will work closely with technical and business colleagues in a new product-focused delivery group, to bring the new products to completion. You will gain excellent domain knowledge of equity trading all around the world. As a Delivery Lead you will be empowered to own the delivery function for your team, from requirements analysis through development and testing, all the way through to production rollout and 2nd-line systems support.

As a Delivery Lead, you will be working with product managers, engineers, architects, and cross-functional delivery teams to help implement real value and strategic deliverables to our clients. You will work collaboratively with a diverse range of stakeholders and across multiple technology teams within a fast-paced delivery environment to achieve the businesses goals. You will be a vital part of the team driving technical discussions and solutions, whilst working closely with product to align with the business strategy.

What you\xe2\x80\x99ll be responsible for

• 
  The direction and leadership of an engineering team whilst also managing resource, capacity, and scope with strong communication skills and good technical knowledge to help us deliver.
• 
  Leading by example as a hands-on developer. Demonstrating through your own work the standard expected within your team, ensuring your team members deliver high quality output, and seek to continuously lift the quality bar.
• 
  Driving the development process end-to-end and being responsible for ongoing support and maintenance of the technology product.
• 
  Identifying and breaking down work into iterative deliverables, leading the sprints for maximum flow.
• 
  Leading agile ceremonies where you define the team focus based on the team objectives and quantify the overall impact on users.
• 
  Discussing tools, techniques, and problems to collectively and continuously improve what we build and how we operate.
• 
  Ensuring a consistent level of technical excellence and provide progress reports to stakeholders and project teams.
• 
  Pro-actively seeking and identify inefficacies, synergies, and opportunities to drive progress on delivery and maintain clarity on priorities.

What experience you\xe2\x80\x99ll have

• 
  Excellent Java software development skills. We expect our delivery leads to be hands-on developers, who can set a high standard of code quality, at pace.
• 
  Excellent English-language communication skills and a desire to build strong working relationships with colleagues across the globe.
• 
  Team leadership and team-building experience. A desire to invest in your team members and help them reach their potential by setting challenging goals, mentoring/coaching, and providing regular feedback.
• 
  Be comfortable in a fast-paced Agile environment where requirements evolve, priorities can change, and unforeseen challenges may surface.
