Join us in shaping the future of technology and engineering solutions on a global scale.Position SummaryPosition Summary and LocationCommunications Engineer, Technologist I, will be responsible for the installation, maintenance and operations of the companys network. The individual must be qualified at all levels of IP networks providing operational and project support to our business units data, voice, wireless and video networks. This position also involves developing & maintaining procedures to support network operations.Location: Chandigarh, IndiaDuties & ResponsibilitiesDuties and ResponsibilitiesESSENTIAL\xc2\xa7 Assist in availability of 24/7/365 staffing schedule of network operations\xc2\xa7 Assist in 24/7 monitoring of the network, servers and systems health using Solarwinds, Netflow, Microsoft SCOM, SCCM, Splunk etc.\xc2\xa7 Work with trouble tickets, support teams to restore network services\xc2\xa7 Assist network operations center with investigations & documentation where warnings / threshold breach is observed\xc2\xa7 Design and maintain the monitoring tools.\xc2\xa7 Expert in problem resolution.\xc2\xa7 Ability to troubleshoot and configure network devices remotely\xc2\xa7 Documents, tracks and monitors problems to ensure a timely resolution of all assigned tickets.\xc2\xa7 Participate in an on call rotation to provide support to oceaneering global businesses.\xc2\xa7 Ability to work shifts to include holidays and weekends to support the infrastructure.\xc2\xa7 Responsible for providing project support and evaluating new technologies.\xc2\xa7 Identify and correct workflows and processes to improve network reliability and/or resolution times.\xc2\xa7 Promote a positive work environment and promote customer service.\xc2\xa7 Lead and mentor junior technicians on projects and troubleshooting.\xc2\xa7 Manage, control and document changes per the change management supervisor\xc2\xa7 Assist in root cause analysis of Network operation issues\xc2\xa7 Any other tasks as directed by line managerNON-ESSENTIAL\xc2\xa7 Should be open to travel as per business needsSupervisory Responsibilities\xc2\xa7 This position has NO supervisory responsibilitiesReporting Relationship\xc2\xa7 Reports to Manager, Network Engineering\xc2\xa7 Works closely with other IT teamsQualificationsQualificationsREQUIRED\xc2\xa7 Bachelors degree, preferably in Electronics, Computer Science, or equivalent education\xc2\xa7 Total work experience of 3-5 years\xc2\xa7 Must have an expert understanding of the TCP/IP network protocol.\xc2\xa7 Must be an expert in troubleshooting wireless networks from past experiences with Cisco or Aruba.\xc2\xa7 Must be an expert in routing and switching technologies.\xc2\xa7 Knowledge of Cisco Wireless Controllers and accesspoints.\xc2\xa7 Knowledge of DMVPN, IPSEC, SSL VPNs.\xc2\xa7 Knowledge of the F5 load balance.\xc2\xa7 Must be an expert with the Cisco ASA firewall technologies.\xc2\xa7 Must be an expert with EIGRP and BGP routing protocols.\xc2\xa7 Experience of QOS policies across the Enterprise for Data, Voice and Video.DESIRED\xc2\xa7 CCNA, CCNP certifications preferred\xc2\xa7 Good communication skills\xc2\xa7 Fluent in English with excellent communication skills\xc2\xa7 Able to work independentlyKnowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Other Characteristics\xc2\xa7 Log file analysis, event correlation, and troubleshooting\xc2\xa7 Good written and verbal communication skills\xc2\xa7 Teamwork & Interpersonal skills\xc2\xa7 Analytical, problem solving & decision making skills\xc2\xa7 Organizing & planning skills\xc2\xa7 Initiative: Volunteers readily; Undertakes self-development activities; Seeks increased responsibilities; Takes independent actions and calculated risks; Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities; Asks for and offers help when neededClosing StatementWorking ConditionsThis position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.\xc2\xa7 Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night\xc2\xa7 Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the work place\xc2\xa7 Work surface is stable (flat)Physical Activity/RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
