Summary Lead a team of experienced design engineers & Hardware owners , responsible for supporting the installed base of Advanced HA compressors. Scope includes technical oversight of the Advanced Compressor Rotor designs. Scope includes the New design introductions, manufacturing and sourcing support, customer issue resolutions. Scope includes technical oversight of the Advanced Compressor Rotor design and analysis including those of the 7F.05, 7HA.01, 7HA.02, 9HA.01, 9HA.02, and the 9F.05-18. Rotor design scope includes compressor rotors, seals, bolts, joint/flange, design for strength and high temperature application, etc. The Emerging fleet scope includes field and factory support of a fleet of approximately 200 engines. Lead the team and be a practitioner of dispositioning field ER cases and executing aspects of RCAs. Own and lead the team through factory support efforts including in-house qualifications and deviation requests. Lead the rotors team through external supplier qualification efforts. Through the support of the field and factory, detailed 2D/3D analyses and leveraging fleet experience are required to evaluate and mitigate component and system level risks. Lead technical reviews of all design tasks and output with Controlled Title Holders, following the documented NPI and RCA Processes. Communicate effectively with PDE to produce quality models and drawings for use by Manufacturing and suppliers. Communicate within Compressor Module team and with its management on technical issues as well as with interfacing organizations such as Clearances, Aerodynamics, Structures, Accessories, Airfoil, Manufacturing, Sourcing, suppliers, Materials Engineering, Systems Engineering, and Customer Service Engineering. Mentor and train young/new design engineers within the compressor module team to maintain this critical skillset of component knowledge, including within the global team. Maintain broad awareness of efforts within team to assure technical quality excellence, timely completion of reviews and manufacturing definition, and responsiveness to customer / program needs. Incorporate lessons learned from validation and field experience to drive measurable cost reduction and both product and process improvements bounded by reliability and capability. Support & involvement in broad company-wide initiatives in support of GE Gas Power business objectives (i.e. Value Engineering, Lean and Problem Solving) Promote professional growth through coaching and as assignment leader for either Edison Engineers or Engineering Interns/Co-ops. Stay current and abreast of academic & industry technology trends and relevant ASME or SAE codes & standards. Qualifications/Requirements: Bachelor of Science in Engineering and a minimum 8 years industry experience Solid understanding of gas turbine design, HA rotor design and rotating part experience. Follows analytical approach to problem solving, takes initiative, exhibits strong communication skills, and demonstrates effective leadership skills Ability to work in a dynamic team environment with a wide variety of organizations and individuals in global locations. Demonstrated experience leading teams. Demonstrated strong interpersonal, facilitative, and organizational skills. Desired Qualifications HA Rotor Design Experience. GE leadership program graduate.
