What You\'ll DoYou will be designing the hardware for the Service Provider routers to deliver the best quality, best power efficiency using cutting edge serdes technology at the highest bit rates possible. Your responsibilities will cover from hardware definition to design, from qualification to product release and sustaining of the product during the product life cycle. Working with a team of experts on hardware design, you\'ll also work closely with other teams and vendors during the development of the product and solving sophisticated problems along the way.Primary Accountabilities:

  • Write hardware specs, develop test plans
  • Use Cadence/Allegro to capture schematics
  • Bring up hardware with ASIC, FPGA and Software teams
  • Debug issues in the lab using analyzers, oscilloscopes, review system logs and traces for analysis of performance or failures
  • Hardware support to cross functional team for Product Sustaining
Who You\'ll Work WithWe are the Hardware Engineering team located in Bangalore that is designing the hardware and supporting service provider router platforms for Cisco. These routers varies in complexity from large chassis platforms like ASR9000, NCS5500 for core and aggregation networks to compact chassis, low power routers for mobile backbone aggregation and cell site application like NCS560, NCS540 and ASR900 series routers - supporting network interface speeds of 800G to 1G.Who You AreOur Minimum Requirements for This Role:
  • Bachelors/Masters in Electrical or Electronics Engineering
  • 10+ years experience in system level development preferably in the server/computer/network industry
  • Experience in Ethernet, high speed serdes (
10G) interfaces, high speed design and signal integrity * Experience in X86 architecture, and a very good understanding of control interfaces such as PCIe, MDIO, SPI, I2C
  • Experience in designing with DDR4/DDR5 and SSD memory devices
  • Hands on board design knowledge, familiar with design tools including Cadence Concept and Allegro
  • Experience with lab bring up and design validation of products
  • Ability to collaborate with other subject areas, including FPGA, software, mechanical, signal integrity and Manufacturing
  • Prior experience with shipping products in troubleshooting field issues and Failure Analysis
  • Familiarity with industry standards for Telecom and electronic equipment (EMC, Safety, Environmental, Telecom)
  • Self driven and ability to map high level requirements into actionable milestones
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Job will require design and lab work

Cisco sales plans do not have a minimum threshold of performance for sales incentive compensation to be paid.
