Position: Technical Lead - Video Engineering, Digital Business Purpose: This position is required to provide technology leadership on medium to large scale products/platform with internal and direct customer impact. In this role the incumbent will help us design and implement robust and scalable network architecture for live video ingestion, playout, and encoding. Education: B.E./B.Tech, MCA or Equivalent Computer Degree Location: Bengaluru Reporting Relationship: Engineering Manager, Digital Business Business/Channel/Function: Digital Experience: • 8+ years of experience in network architecture and live streaming.
• Proven experience in managing and scaling live streaming infrastructure.
• Strong proficiency in networking protocols and technologies (e.g., TCP/IP, HTTP, DNS, CDN).
• Experience with live encoding technologies for both on-premises and cloud environments.
• Knowledge of video ingestion protocols such as RTMP, HLS, DASH, and SRT.
• Strong understanding of server-side ad insertion (SSAI) technologies and standards (e.g., VAST, VMAP, SCTE-35).
• Experience with content delivery networks (CDNs) and their configurations, including tools like Akamai Media Services.
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, including libraries like Boto3 for AWS services.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD, AWS Code Pipeline, and Google Cloud Build.
• Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like AWS CloudFormation, Google Cloud Deployment Manager, Terraform, and AWS Lambda.
• Experience with monitoring and logging tools like Prometheus, Grafana, and ELK Stack.
• Experience with DRM technologies (e.g., Widevine, PlayReady, FairPlay) and security protocols for streaming.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills.

Roles & Responsibility

• Manage live encoding processes using on-premises and cloud technologies.
• Ensure high-quality video output while optimizing for bandwidth and performance.
• Implement and manage video ingestion protocols such as RTMP, HLS, DASH, and SRT.
• Ensure seamless and reliable stream publishing to various platforms and devices.
• Configure and manage Content Delivery Networks (CDNs) to ensure seamless delivery of live streaming content.
• Monitor CDN performance and optimize configurations as needed.
• Ensure seamless integration of ads into live streams without affecting the user experience.
• Monitor and optimize ad insertion performance.
• Develop and maintain automation scripts using programming languages such as Python with Boto3 for AWS services.
• Automate live streaming processes, including encoding, streaming, DRM (Digital Rights Management), and security protocols.
• Ensure the security of streaming services, including encryption and secure token-based authentication.
• Work closely with product managers, video engineers, and other stakeholders to gather requirements and deliver high-quality solutions.
• Communicate technical concepts and project status effectively.
• Participate in cross-functional team meetings and discussions to align engineering activities with business goals.
