Within LIGO, manufacturing engineering, cost performance engineering, supply chain and logistics, spares operations and planning, order fulfilment, inventory management, and supplier QA engineering functions work collaboratively to deliver best in class solutions for Lam's global operations.There is an opening for the role of Technical Lead Costing Engineer for in Metal Machining domain for Cost Performance Engineering (CPE). This position is based out of Bangalore, directly reporting to the leader of CPE group within LIGO. Individual shall collaborate with all Product Groups in Lam India, US and Europe, providing leadership on should costing and design for cost solutions for metal machined parts used in semiconductor capital equipment.Job ResponsibilitiesAs a key member of Cost Performance Engineering group, you will be responsible for developing accurate and consistent should-cost models for metal machining commodity. These cost models will be used to identify cost improvement opportunities, determine product feasibility, and potential cost avoidance. You will partner with Engineering, Product Management, sourcing (Materials Program Management / MPM for new product and existing products, Supplier Business Management / SBM, Supplier Engineering and Technology / SET). The objective is to enable cost leadership and sustained competitive advantage, maximizing the value of Lam's new products, starting with the commodities of metal machined parts components.Position will focus on realizing results through the following:
