Job Description

The incumbent candidate will be part of the Energy Management business unit CTO-India office, and belong to the Global Materials group consisting of polymer & metals experts. The focus of this team to provide support to the Product Development teams for product performance assessment as well as helping sourcing materials for our products, and study innovative materials, on the scope of thermoplastics with an eye on others materials types (thermosets, unsaturated polyester, elastomers).


Missions

You will be in charge to support activities of product development in an international landscape, material selection, double sourcing with procurement, collaboration with plants for potential quality issue solving and anticipation with expertise on plastic material. In conjunction with engineering & industrial teams, you will define material technical specifications given the material's role in the product. You will be in charge to define and write experimental qualification procedures. You will work closely with buyers at Schneider and suppliers, to select the best materials for our products. You will lead R&D studies to validate materials choices and recover qualification results of materials in the equipment. This work will be performed closely with Schneider Electric's internal laboratories. You may also be involved in running some experiments (mechanical, chemical testing if needed). You will be in charge of sustainable plastic promotion for deployment in new development.



You will play a role in knowledge management and competencies capitalization, as well as knowledge transfer, by diffusing good practices, providing internal training and ultimately, coaching to new employees in the field of Physcio chemical formulation( technical specification, training, standards).


You will also take responsibility in Schneider Electric sustainability by working for Eco-design , ensuring material's durability and the development of new materials with low environmental impacts.


Qualifications

Qualifications:



• Master's in polymer science, polymer engineering, materials science, material engineering with minimum 10 years experience or PhD in polymer science/engineering, chemical engineering, mechanical engineering, material science/engineering with 5 years experience


• Expertise in thermoplastic materials with understanding of thermoset and elastomeric materials.


• Understanding and knowledgeable in Structure-property analysis


• Able to create formulation using additives and fillers to provide the necessary functionality and performance.


• Experienced and knowledgeable in different additives, especially flame retardants


• Have worked on and has good level of understanding on substance regulation related topics


• Proven record & Aptitude to do innovation by partnering with universities, suppliers etc...


• Team player. Able to work with teams across different regions and collaborate effectively to deliver results.


• Leadership qualities to drive technical activities such as working groups to deliver outcome.


• Solid knowledge and understanding of sustainability aspects related to materials.
