So, join our Azure Ops team and feel like youre part of something bigger.About your teamThe Cloud Platform group is responsible for all aspects of designing, building and operating our enterprise-scale cloud platforms that will host hundreds of FIL workloads. Within the group we practice modern DevOps engineering approaches leveraging TDD, paired programming and delivering everything we do through full CI/CD automation.About your roleThe Technical Consultant will be responsible for engineering & supporting the Fidelity Azure Core Cloud Services and the long term ownership of their strategic development at FIL. As a member of a global extreme agile programming team aligned to the Azure Cloud Product Owner, you will offer best practise trusted advisor consultancy to enable effective adoption of Azure services whilst ensuring quality MVP deliverables for a robust, automated and innovative evolving Production service within this cloud enablement group.The Technical Consultant will be expected to implement quality based solutions, looking for opportunities to collaborate with all FIL teams, especially TIS Product SMEs, Infrastructure Architects & Delivery contacts in support of the Product roadmap taking using agreed patterns.The candidate will play a key role in showcasing the cloud capabilities of the Azure core services available to FIL developers & application Product Owners whilst being fully hands on to program, identify & resolve technical issues & continually improve the quality and innovation of the team.About youYou are knowledgable in software engineering best practices (including the GitOps model, DevOps, Clean Code), automating platform deployments, and programming to industry standards. You are comfortable pair-programming and guiding other members of your team in building robust solutions.The role requires hands-on engineering skills in at least one programming language, ideally Python, but experience in any major language is useful. You also have experience of distributed systems and integration patterns; typical triaging involves network/firewall/integration debugging.You deploy both application and infrastructure using Infrastructure-as-Code principles (using Terraform) via CI/CD pipelines and are confident in a major pipeline tools (AWS CodePipeline/Azure Devops/Concourse/Jenkins).You come from a strong networking background and understand both on-premises and cloud concepts. You are are well-versed in the essentials (CIDRs, subnetting, standard protocols e.g. TCP/UDP, firewalls, routing, loadbalancing, DNS etc) and can articulate these concepts to newer members of the team.You are adept with the Linux operating system and are at ease interacting with the platform via CLI rather than using GUIs.Your skills and experience

• CI/CD Pipelines (Azure Devops)
• GIT Version Control (GIT HUB)
• Core Azure Platform Services (Landing Zones)
• Cloud Networking (Azure Firewall, VWAN Hub, PIP, Private Endpoints, Express Route)
• Event Management (Azure Monitor, Moogsoft, SCOM)
• Log Analytics, DCR Rules, Workspaces, KQL
• Logic Apps
• Azure Functions
• Cloud Security - E.G Creating Azure Service Controls, in line with MS and FIL Security Baselines

• Good experience in working within an Agile Team including:
• Agile - Story Writing, Story Points, Planning, retros and Pair Programming

• Strong documentation skills
• MS certification an advantage
• Service oriented
• A disposition to take responsibility.
• An ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines.
• Organised with good attention to detail.
• Structured and methodical in problem solving.
• Strong communication skills and flexible team player
• Flexibility to travel between locations.
• Banking or Finance related business experience desirable
