Kong is seeking an energetic and self-motivated Technical Community Manager to join our growing team. This role is critical for managing our global developer community and organizing technical events for Kong's Developer Marketing team.

The ideal candidate is passionate about nurturing and engaging a technical community through meetups, webinars, and other virtual events. This includes working closely with engineering, product, and cross-functional teams to plan and execute technical content and programming.

This individual should have excellent verbal and written communication skills, a strong understanding of the technical challenges developers face, and a dedication to helping developers get started and succeed with Kong's products.

### What You'll Be Doing:

+ Plan and organize regular technical meetups, both in-person and virtual, to engage the developer community at the APJ level.
+ Coordinate and host webinars, live coding sessions, and other virtual technical events at the global level.
+ Develop engaging technical content and presentations for events in collaboration with engineers, partners, and Kong Champions at the global level.
+ Manage event logistics, including venue/platform selection, speaker coordination, promotion, and attendee management at the APJ level.
+ Foster relationships with local tech communities, user groups, and influencers to drive event awareness and attendance.
+ Analyze event metrics and gather feedback to continually improve the event experience.
+ Maintain consistent community support across all developer channels, including GitHub, forums, and Stack Overflow at the global level.
+ Contribute to the overall social media and community engagement strategy to nurture and engage developers.
+ Identify opportunities to engage with the technical community.

### What You'll Bring:

+ 3-5 years of experience in community management, event planning, or a related technical role.
+ Proven track record of organizing successful technical meetups, webinars, and virtual events.
+ Strong understanding of developer tools, technologies, and open-source communities.
+ Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and experience working with remote teams.
+ Project management skills with the ability to juggle multiple events and priorities.
+ Data-driven approach to community management and event planning.
+ Enthusiasm for staying current with the latest technical trends and topics.
+ Experience working with developers, technical leaders, and open-source communities.

### Bonus Points:

+ Domain experience in the cloud, SaaS, or API management space.
+ Experience building communities for a combination of open-source and open-core products.
+ Public speaking or technical presentation experience.
