Leading definition of high level and detailed design of the product Leading creation and development of the Concept, End-to-End Solution including Functional and Technical designs, ensuring the architectural governance approvals are obtained. Designing and supporting the implementation of resilient, scalable solutions for the platform Produce High Level End-to-End Design documents Produce Detailed Component Level design Develop an in-depth awareness of new tools, processes and technical developments relevant to your area of expertise, and seek opportunities to apply them Work with technology architects on the definition of product strategy and roadmaps Collaborate with business analysts and developers to turn business requirements into solution designs that meet the business needs while aligning with our technical strategy for each application Understand technical constraints of the environment and architecture, building this into solution design Produce end-to-end system designs, engaging, directing and collaborating with other internal and supplier teams as required Able to peer review codes will be added advantage Bring innovative ideas to solve technical challenges What will you be doing Technical Consultancy Review Technical Feasibility Studies (TFS) for projects that impact applications / products within domain. Review Advice and Guidance (A&G) documents and project Plan and Estimates (P&Es) that impact applications / products within domain. Apply new tools, processes and technical developments to drive continuous improvement throughout the software development lifecycle. Requirements Gathering Review business requirements to understand how system requirements fit within overall business solution. Challenge any requirements that are incomplete or do not provide sufficient clarity to support effective software development. Review requirements to understand how both functional and non-functional aspects (e.g. capacity, availability, response times, etc.) need to be met. Review requirements to understand how they will be tested following production of code. Technical Development (Design, Build, Unit Test) Review end-to-end system technical designs to understand impact on applications / products within domain. Review any changes to end-to-end system designs to determine impact on applications / products within domain. Understand the various phases of the software development lifecycle. Review component designs to build knowledge and understand how these fit within an end-to-end system design. Collaborate with other developers to build technical solution. Deliver to all software engineering quality standards / benchmarks. Complete assignment work to budget, time and quality requirements. Document all work in accordance with agreed standards, and with re-use in mind. Application Management Participate in technical implementation planning, ensuring that the integrity of live operations will be maintained. Produce information and education relating to the system technology and function for the relevant IT service teams. Assist in the resolution of live incidents and system problems as and when required. Project Management Assist in the identification, management and resolution of any software-related Risks, Assumptions, Issues and Dependencies (RAIDs). Track work and report progress to team leader on a timely basis. Team Leadership and Staff Development Learn about emerging software development methods, tools and standards. Identify own development needs and seek opportunities to address these needs through guidance, coaching and formal training. What we\'re looking for: Demonstrable experience in Solution Designer or Solution Architect role with strong evidence of end-to-end delivery. Ability to be able to provide succinct details in written format and verbally to Stakeholders. Strong stakeholder management. Promote and drive stewardship and application best practices within the development team. Strong evidence of design techniques covering all phases of the project lifecycle, both Agile and Waterfall. Ability to architect and model mission critical solutions leveraging multiple DBMS technologies i.e. Relational, No SQL. Experience of following: REST API design using RAML, OAS 3.x Micro Services Java, Spring MVC/SpringBoot Databases (RDBMS, No SQL) Domain Driven Design API Security using OAuth2/OpenID Skills that will help you in the role: AWS knowledge/certified Experience of AWS solution delivery AWS knowledge including Lambda, ECS, Kinesis. Dynamo, ETL Services, Monitoring & Security DevOps, ELK, AppDynamics Basics Experience with event driven and real time architecture patterns, messaging and streaming technologies such as Kafka, Kinesis and AWS Managed Services for Kafka.
