We are looking for an adept individual to lead our Environmental Management initiatives, ensuring compliance with statutory regulations and global standards while driving continual improvement of our Environmental Management System (EMS). Your role involves overseeing environmental operations, implementing cost-effective measures, and liaising with regulatory agencies to uphold environmental compliance, playing a pivotal role in enhancing our environmental performance and fostering a positive organizational image.Roles & Responsibilities

  • You will be responsible for coordinating the review of the Environment Management System (EMS) to meet statutory, regulatory, and global requirements, providing input for continual improvement.
  • You will develop, implement, monitor, and maintain systems aligned with corporate environmental policies and strategies.
  • You will oversee environmental operations, leading a team to ensure smooth operation of the wastewater recycling facility while minimizing costs.
  • Your role involves initiating efficient systems to reduce operating costs without compromising environmental performance, delegating day-to-day duties within the Environment wing, and ensuring staff training compliance.
  • You will be responsible for liaising with regulatory agencies to build a positive image of environmental compliance and ensuring timely submission of data and reports.
  • You will monitor environmental parameters, including third-party assessments and develop, implement and update environment related SOPs (Standard Operating Procedures).
  • You will identify need for new equipment or instruments for ETP (Effluent Treatment Plant), Environmental labs, and others to ensure compliance.
  • You will be expected to collaborate with process engineers and managers on initiatives such as reducing fresh water consumption and hazardous waste, increasing treated water recycling, and reducing operational cost.
  • You will be responsible for preparing and managing the ETP budget and ensuring compliance with budget limits.
  • You will introduce and implement safety systems and procedures in the work environment, training and evaluating safety performance of ETP contract workers on safe operations.
  • You will assist in preparing reports and filing applications for environmental approvals and grants, and ensure baseline data generation for each product\'s effluent stream.
  • You will ensure implementation of effective segregation at source for ETPs, and update agreements with third parties to comply with legal requirements and other regulations.
QualificationsEducational qualification: An Bachelor\'s or Master\'s in Environmental or Chemical EngineeringMinimum work experience: 10+ yearsSkills & attributes:Technical Skills
  • Strong understanding of environmental compliance and operations like Bio treatment, MEE (Multi Effect Evaporator) and RO (Reverse Osmosis) Operations.
  • Proficiency in coordinating and reviewing EMS in accordance with statutory, regulatory, and global requirements, including experience in implementing and monitoring corporate environmental policies and strategies.
  • Strong understanding of waste water recycling facilities and effluent treatment processes, with experience in overseeing environmental operations and ensuring compliance with environmental parameters.
  • Knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, with experience in liaising with regulatory agencies, preparing reports, and ensuring timely submission of data and compliance documentation.
  • Experience in introducing and implementing safety systems and procedures in the work environment, with accountability for safety performance and training of personnel on safe operations.
Behavioural skills
  • Strong leadership and team management skills to lead a result-oriented team, delegate duties, and ensure effective performance of environmental operations.
  • Excellent communication and liaison skills to effectively interact with regulatory agencies, internal stakeholders, and third-party contractors, fostering positive relationships and ensuring compliance.
  • Strong problem-solving skills to identify environmental issues, implement solutions, and drive continual improvement in environmental management practices.
